MODERN MISFITS X SCANDALOUS ARTISTRY
For the first time ever, a dream that Ivy and I have always talked about finally came true this past Sunday Orlando’s FUN Salon ✨ !!
6 years we have been friends and from the beginning Ivy has always told me how I needed to become an educator because I just have so much natural knowledge on color that it needs to be shared!
From my point of view, I always thought that Ivy should be teaching because her skill set and knowledge with Shears is irreplaceable!
So with that modern misfits was born! This was years in the making, and what an honor it was to stand beside my best friend and teach for the first time ever!
I’d like to give a huge shout out to Danger Jones for sponsoring this class! I had so much fun sharing my color theory and application skills with you all!
Thank you to everyone who showed up and hung out with us all day while we talked color and bonded overall things fun and whimsical!
If you’re sad that you missed out on this class (I understand why) we would love to bring this class to you! This was only stop one of the tour… and could be coming to a city near you!

🌈 ORLANDO MODEL CALL - APPLICATIONS OPEN!✂️
Modern Misfits is officially looking for 3 models to join us for for our upcoming education class! 🤘🏼
On August 23 Brianna Brianna Cartaya 🌈🧚♀️ and Ivy Ann ✂ Professional Shears ✂ are teaming up at Scandalous Artistry in Orlando, Fl for an all-day education experience centered around creative color, cutting + extensions.
🌈 MODEL // 01 - VIVID COLOR + CUT
A virgin-hair canvas open to a vivid transformation, creative color placement + a shape changing, s**g inspired haircut.
➰ Natural texture or a curl pattern is Haile preferred, as this cut will focus on s**ggy layers, movement + enhancing the hairs natural texture.
🎨 MODEL // 02 - FULL VIVID COLOR
A virgin level 6-8 canvas with medium/high density and shoulder to mid-length hair who is ready for full-head lightning + a complete vivid transformation.
⚡️IMPORTANT: Model 02 we also need to be available a few days prior to class for a full head bleach out appointment in preparation for vivid application August 23.
✨ MODEL // 03 - VIVID WEFT
Virgin hair is NOT required!
We’re looking for someone who currently wears extensions or is open to them, preferably with natural wave/texture, who is ready to incorporate, vivid color through a custom weft installation.
❤️🔥 WHY BE A MODEL?
Modern Misfits is about creating outside the lines. These transformations will be used to demonstrate our techniques in a live education setting, so we’re looking for models are excited to trust the process, embrace, something creative, and let us create some seriously cool hair.
🎨 ALL color and products used for the transformations will be provided. Select selected models will pay NO service fee.

LETSSS GOOOOOO
Ahhh I’m feeling so many emotions! This is such a huge moment in my career! This wig was one of the FIRST EVER wigs I colored! Now it has been placed in two separate competions! I must say tho, The Rainbow Convention was my top show that I looked forward to the most. I made this wig with this comp in mind and boyyyyy has it it taken me places!
From stepping out of my@comfort zone and creating a whole photoshoot (that I was behind the camera for) , to me on stage for at Hair & House with Orlando’s FUN Salon ✨ to now being placed in the WIG category!
I’m so blessed to have such support from my peers, my clients, and my family. I love you all! I couldn’t have done it without you! 🩷🥹
Also a huge shoutout to my amazing model kill4sosa I love you so much queen! Thank you for brining my vision to life!
Congratulations to all the amazing artists in this category with me!! This is our moment!!

Somebody PINCH ME!!! Being nominated in the top 100 for the HAIR AWARDS is a dream come true! Literally I’ve dreamt it and I’m so honored to be put in a line up with so many other BADASS hairstylists!!!
A lot of firsts came with this wig! For starters it was the first wig I had EVER PAINTED. I also attended Orlando’s FUN Salon ✨ Hair & House and styled this on stage with the same model!! I’ve never been nominated for any kind of competition so this being one of those has me over the moon…🌙

What an amazing opportunity the creative community has to offer! I had a vision and my wonderful friends teamed up with me to bring it to life. Strawberry Shortcake IRL. When I was pondering what I’d enter into The Rainbow Convention competion I just knew I had to step it up a notch.
I’ve really been enjoying the challenge that this competition offers every year. I feel like my skill set and comfortability with creating outside of the box expands more. What do you think? Did I nail it? (joke intended, because the nail set by Orlando Nail Tech is hello Kitty strawberry shortcake themed)

Humble brag, Jordan has been with me for 2 years now as my assistant and I couldn’t be more proud of the success she has created for herself behind the chair! One of my favorite parts of being a mentor is watching my mentee grow up LITERALLY.
