After going through perimenopause changes myself, I have a different understanding of how important hormones are when it comes to musculoskeletal health. Whenever I have new clients reach out to me who are women presenting with: Frozen Shoulder, Tenosynovitis, Gluteal Tendinopathy, etc... I'm now asking to see if they have had their hormone levels checked. I can absolutely help with soft tissue injuries, but realistically, outcomes will be better when certain underlying conditions are addressed first.

It is a specialized field. Many PCPs or even OBGYNs may not have taken CEUs to update their knowledge on HRT. There is now a directory of physicians who specialize in Peri/Menopause, and at the very least, online places like Midi and Defy are highly recommended.

Sharing one of my favorite videos specifically dealing with the tissues I work on all day.

In December I had asked all of you to vote for your favorite. I was shocked that B took an early lead, as I kept staring, I kinda started leaning towards A. But I listened, and I'm so glad I did! Officially moved in (same building, different room). 8 months later, here we are! Thank you for your participation and quieting my concerns about whether or not it would look "clinical" enough.

My office is now in the front of the building. Please use the front door and enjoy the lobby or use the restroom, as there is someone using my former room already and there is no guarantee the back door will be open.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 08/26/2026

As someone in the wellness profession, health and prevention mean everything to me - but it became intensely personal a month ago when my best friend was diagnosed with breast cancer. I normally join her teams to walk in honor of her mother. This year, I'm fundraising to pay it forward to the research that allowed for her early detection, and to help drive us closer to a cure. Any support for my fundraiser means the world to me. If you'd like to walk with us, we'd be happy to have you!

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer I joined Making Strides Against Breast Cancer to fight breast cancer. Support me with a donation and you'll be helping the American Cancer Society fund breakthrough breast cancer research, free rides to chemo, a 24/7 help line and so much more! Donate now

8 months from when this project first started... It's finally almost done. Should be moved into the new room by next week!

If you sit or stand all day at work, or drive and travel all the time, I highly suggest these compression socks. I wear these at work every day, when I don't, I can see the swelling in my ankles and fatigue hits differently.

This is the best promo they have, with each pair coming out to $15. 11/10 recommend. Be sure to measure your calf for best fit! I did bring a tape measure to the office if you need assistance 😃

A massage therapist shared this video on a bodyworker page and it's awesome! Just did it for my wrists.

Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) is where you engage the antagonist muscle first before stretching the muscle you're trying to stretch. Then you hold for two seconds with like two ounces of pressure, reset and repeat for about 8 times. This video was AMAZING, he did a great job explaining everything.

The "Fluid Dynamics" of Stress (A 2:00 AM Case Study) 🧠💧

The first picture shows the moment my body hit a wall.

After a few days of a heart cath for my mom and caring for a sick pup, I woke up at 2:00 AM feeling like food was trapped behind my sternum. I checked my ring data and saw the "red" flags: my Resting Heart Rate (RHR) was 15 bpm higher than my baseline.

My first thought? Indigestion. I know better than to reach for an antacid.

The Reality? I was experiencing the physiological cost of high-level stress.

When we are in "survival mode," our body makes two critical shifts:

1️⃣ Digestion hits "pause" as blood flow moves to our muscles and brain. This can also cause constipation.

2️⃣ Heart rate climbs because stress is physically dehydrating, lowering our blood volume.

Instead of reaching for a PPI (which can have systemic side effects with long-term use), I treated the cause, not the symptom. I used electrolytes (that I thought might keep me awake because of the b12 - it didn't) and vagus nerve resets to signal to my body that the "threat" was over.

The result? My heart rate stabilized, the "heartburn" vanished, and I actually got a few more hours of sleep before Shadow was ready for the park. 🐾🥎

In clinical massage and in life: Treat the cause, and the symptoms take care of themselves.

This. A million times, this. It's okay to be concerned about pain... it's what ignites the motivation to do something about it. But a body part that isn't performing its best is just a work in progress. Speak kindly to yourself in all things, and watch your body respond 😃

I was a dummy and failed to get a picture of my father's abdomen before I did the first scar release treatment with the Dolphin Neurostim... But here is a picture after his first treatment on the left, and after his second treatment on the right. An umbilical hernia scar from 1951. Pretty neat!
