For more than 15 years, this client searched for answers.
As a truck driver, he spent long hours in work boots and dealt with persistent skin issues that affected both his feet and nails. Over the years, he visited multiple specialists, received different opinions and tried numerous prescription products without lasting success.
One provider believed it was eczema.
Another believed it was athlete's foot.
Yet despite years of searching for answers, the problem remained.
In November 2020, he began a new approach focused on consistency, proper foot care, moisture management and ongoing professional care.
By January 2022, significant improvement had been documented.
By June 2024, his skin and nails showed substantial improvement.
Perhaps most importantly, the improvements documented in June 2024 have been maintained through today…2026.
This case serves as a reminder that some concerns don't improve overnight. Consistency matters. Proper guidance matters. Understanding the factors contributing to the problem matters.
Images shown represent this client's Initial Condition, documented progress and Current Condition.
Have you ever dealt with a foot or nail issue that seemed like nothing worked?
Initial Condition • Early Progress • Current Condition
When this client first came to NEATEN her toenails were darkened, damaged and visibly stressed.
The issue was not caused overnight.
Years of overly aggressive nail services and improper technique had contributed to repeated trauma to her nails.
In May 2025, we began a structured corrective care plan focused on conservative nail reduction, proper maintenance and consistent home care.
By June 2025, early progress was already visible.
Today, one year later her nails are significantly healthier and more stable.
This is what can happen when nail care is performed with restraint, education and consistency.
Many people believe damaged nails are permanent. In many cases, improvement is possible when the source of ongoing trauma is removed and the nails are managed properly.
If you recognize a similar pattern in your own nails….know that better methods exist.
For nail professionals: If you were never taught how to properly manage cases like this…you are not alone. Many professionals seek advanced education after licensing to bridge the gap between basic school instruction and real world client needs.
Licensed professionals interested in training can complete the inquiry form at neatennail.com and submit three preferred dates.
Our next workshop is scheduled for June 20–22, 2026, and a limited number of seats remain.
The NEATEN Method workshop is intentionally limited to four licensed professionals to create an intimate, hands on learning experience. Private one-on-one training and the NEATEN Salon Partner Program are also available.

Nail Care The Proper Way™
Know Before You Go…
What many people describe as “extra skin” beneath the toenail is often the hyponychium, the protective tissue that seals the area under the nail.
When a toenail becomes excessively curved, pressure can cause this tissue to become enlarged, tender, and more sensitive over time.
In this case, a BS Brace and taping was used to help reduce the curvature and relieve the pressure contributing to these changes.
Not all changes in this tissue are caused by nail curvature. This post highlights one example in which chronic pressure was a contributing factor.
The goal is not aggressive removal.
The goal is to understand what is creating the pressure and to manage it in a controlled and structured way.
When pressure is reduced, the surrounding tissue often begins to settle and the nail can grow with less resistance.
You are always allowed to ask your nail professional about advanced education and training in nail care standards that may help them care for you more effectively.
Licensed professionals interested in NEATEN Method™ training and future educational opportunities may follow .pro and submit an inquiry through the website. Additional training dates may be coordinated based on qualified interest and enrollment.
