Why the name Briny? True story. Thus, Briny Bar Soap.
A chemically inspired name, soap is actually considered a salt, the product of any acid/base reaction. The strong base NaOH (lye) is consumed by a fatty acid such as animal or vegetable fat resulting in soap. Briny Bar utilizes various vegetable oils and butters for their own unique, skin loving qualities in every one-of-a-kind bar. Only sustainably sourced palm oil is used as well as all-natural ingredients like apricot kernel oil, avocado oil, olive oil, coconut oil, essential oils, and fair-trade shea butter. Every product offered is made in small batches by yours truly, so you know you are always getting a carefully made, quality product. Why use handmade soap? Handmade soap retains the natural glycerine produced by the saponification process, allowing it to be more conditioning, nourishing, and moisturizing to the skin compared to the big name beauty bars. Try handmade soap once (mine or anyone elses, there's a ton out there), and you will never be able to go back to the fake stuff again.
A soap I cannot be without: Mint. First made in the summer of 2012 and has been in stock ever since. Cooling peppermint essential oil tingles as you shower, a perfect refresher for the hot summer months. Five pounds were freshly poured this morning and will be cured and ready just in time for summer.

I decided on the salt soap, and I decided on both!
Left: Eucalyptus Salt Bar made with organic eucalyptus essential oil
Right: Herbs & Salt, an herbaceous blend of of rosemary, lavender, and peppermint essential oils
Both made with mineral rich, fine ground sea salt.
I asked you all which salt bar I should make and it has been made! Check back tomorrow to see what I chose. ;)
I have a difficult time making a soap without brown or black involved.
