A fire broke out early this afternoon in downtown Fort Kent. Firefighters were called to a local beauty parlor at 273 Main Steet after noon Monday. Crews requested additional help from Frenchville and North Lakes Volunteer Fire Departments. Main Street was blocked for a short time as firefighters staged in the area. The extent of damage is unknown. Ft. Kent Police refused comment. One other businesses sustained damage.
