đ A NEW CHAPTER BEGINS THIS FALL
The Body Mechanic continues to growâand Iâm excited to share some of what weâve been working on behind the scenes.
Before anything else, I want to say thank you.
Your trust, referrals, conversations, and continued support have allowed me to continue learning, refining my craft, and building a practice centered around thoughtful, individualized care.
This fall, weâre taking another step forward.
Rather than changing everything at once, these updates will roll out in phases.
đ PHASE ONE â SEPTEMBER 1
đť A New Online Booking Experience
Weâll be transitioning to a new online booking platform designed to make scheduling simpler and more convenient.
More details will be shared soon to make the transition as easy as possible.
đż PHASE TWO â OCTOBER 1
Updated Session Rate
Beginning October 1, the standard rate for a 60-minute session will be $100.
This adjustment allows me to continue investing in advanced education, refining the care I provide, and building a sustainable practice that can continue serving our community for years to come.
đ PHASE THREE - COMING THIS NOVEMBER
This is something Iâm especially excited to share.
Throughout September and October, Iâll begin introducing two new options coming to The Body Mechanic:
⨠New Care Plans
Designed to create a more intentional and flexible way for those who want consistent ongoing care.
đ¤ Community Care
Creating more accessible options for receiving care within our community.
Iâll be sharing much more about bothâincluding how they work, who they may be a good fit for, and when enrollment will beginâas we get closer.
These changes arenât about changing the heart of The Body Mechanic.
Theyâre about continuing to build upon it.
More options. More accessibility. More ways to support your journey.
And thereâs still more to come.
Thank you for continuing to trust me with your care and for being part of the growth of this practice.
The best chapters are written together, and Iâm grateful youâre part of this one. đ

Imagine trying to unlock a door.
Would you use a bigger hammerâŚ
Or the right key?
Our body often responds the same way.
More force isnât always the answer.
Sometimes the answer is greater precision.
Fascial Counterstrain uses gentle positioning and precise assessment to work with the bodyâs protective responses.
For many people, thatâs surprising.
Gentle doesnât mean âdoing less.â
It means choosing the most appropriate input for what your body needs.
Were you surprised to learn that a gentle approach can sometimes make a meaningful difference? I know I was!

Think about how your body responds when you cut your finger.
Or when you catch a cold.
Or after a tough workout.
Your body immediately begins adapting.
It doesnât give up.
It gets to work.
And maybe the goal isnât to be perfectly âbalancedâ all the time.
Thereâs a concept called allostasis â our bodyâs ability to adapt and change in response to what life asks of us.
Sometimes we need to move into stress.
Our heart rate increases.
Our breathing changes.
Our muscles prepare us to move.
Our nervous system shifts into protection.
Those responses arenât necessarily bad.
Theyâre necessary.
The important part is having the ability to get into those states when we need them â and get back out when we donât.
Balance and imbalance arenât necessarily opposites we need to label as good or bad.
They exist together.
You canât really understand light without darkness.
You canât appreciate rest without effort.
And we probably wouldnât want a nervous system that could never enter fight-or-flight. we want one that can respond when necessary and then find its way back.
Health may be less about holding ourselves in one perfect stateâŚ
and more about having the capacity to move between states, adapt, recover, and respond.
Thatâs one of the most incredible things about the human body.
It is constantly listening.
Constantly responding.
Constantly adapting.
And the more we understand that adaptability, the more we can begin working with the body rather than constantly trying to force it back into some idea of âperfect balance.â
Your body is doing more for you than you probably realize today.
Take a moment to appreciate it.

Imagine walking into a crowded room.
Without anyone saying a word, you can often tell if the room feels calm⌠or tense.
Your body communicates in much the same way.
Sometimes that communication looks like stiffness.
Sometimes itâs fatigue.
Sometimes itâs sensitivity.
Sometimes itâs limited movement.
These responses arenât random.
Theyâre information.
One of my favorite parts of working with clients is helping them become more aware of those signals not to fear them, but to become curious about them.
Curiosity often opens the door to better understanding.
And better understanding creates opportunities for change.
Whatâs one signal your body gives you when itâs asking for rest? Iâd love to hear !

Have you ever noticed that when youâre under a lot of stressâŚ
Your shoulders tighten.
Your breathing changes.
You donât sleep as well.
Maybe your digestion feels off.
Nothing in the body truly works in isolation.
Muscles communicate with nerves.
Nerves influence movement.
Blood vessels deliver oxygen and nutrients.
The lymphatic system helps move fluid and supports your immune system.
Connective tissue links structures throughout your body.
Your body is constantly communicating within itself.
Thatâs one reason I love Fascial Counterstrain.
Rather than viewing the body as separate pieces, it encourages us to look at how different systems may influence one another.
Instead of asking,
âWhich muscle hurts?â
I ask,
âWhat relationships might be contributing to this personâs movement or discomfort?â
That shift has changed the way I practiceâand itâs changed the way many of my clients understand their own bodies.
My goal isnât simply to reduce discomfort.
Itâs to help cultivate a healthier internal ecosystem one release at a time.
â¤ď¸ What part of your body do you feel âtalksâ to the rest of you the most when youâre stressed?

In regards to my work.
Gentle is often misunderstood.
Many people assume stronger pressure equals better results.
But our bodies donât always respond best to force.
Sometimes they respond best to precision.
Think about adjusting the steering wheel on your car.
You donât need to yank it.
A small, accurate movement changes the direction completely.
The human body can be similar.
The goal isnât to overpower it.
The goal is to understand it.
Thatâs one reason Fascial Counterstrain looks different from what many people expect.
Itâs gentle.
Itâs specific.
And itâs designed to work with your bodyâs protective systems, not against them.
Sometimes the smallest release creates the biggest change.

Lately, Iâve been spending a lot of time going back and retaking courses Iâve completed over the years.
And Iâm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to keep learning, keep refining my craft, and continue developing a deeper understanding and appreciation for just how incredible the human body really is.
One of the things Iâve learned is that thereâs always another layer.
Something you didnât quite catch the first time.
A connection that suddenly makes more sense.
A different way of looking at the body that changes how you approach the person in front of you.
The more I learn, the more respect I have for the complexity of the body, and the importance of continuing to grow as a practitioner.
And none of these weekends away would be possible without my wife holding down the fort at home while Iâm gone. â¤ď¸
Iâm incredibly thankful for her support and for the sacrifices that allow me to keep investing in becoming better at what I do.
Always learning. Always refining. Always working toward a deeper understanding of the body.

One client shared something with me that Iâve never forgotten.
âI spent years trying to force my body to change.â
Stretch harder.
Push more.
Work through the pain.
Rest less.
Eventually they realized something profound.
Their body wasnât resisting them.
It was asking to be understood.
Once we shifted from fighting the body to working with it, they began noticing meaningful changes in how they moved and felt over time.
Sometimes healing begins with a different conversation.

Healing Begins When the Body Feels Safe
Sometimes less really is more.
Many people expect healing to hurt.
In fact, some believe that if it isnât painful, it isnât working.
But think about thisâŚ
When you feel threatenedâŚ
Do you relax?
Probably not.
Your muscles tighten.
Your breathing changes.
Your body prepares to protect you.
Your nervous system works much the same way.
When it feels safeâŚ
It responds differently.
Thatâs one reason Fascial Counterstrain is so gentle.
Rather than forcing tissues to change, we work with your bodyâs natural protective responses.
Healing doesnât begin with force.
It begins with safety.
Thatâs how we cultivate a healthier internal ecosystem.
One release at a time.
