We wanted to go darker without losing all that beautiful dimension, so we kept things soft, blended and lived-in. The end result is glossy, dimensional and SO rich. 🍫🤎

The goal: a rich espresso lived color with dimension, softness, and just enough brightness to keep it from feeling too dark.

This one keeps me on my toes 🤎

She’s naturally a level 8/9 (VERY light blonde), and for 10+ years we’ve been working to keep her a cool, dark brunette with highlights.

Getting her there? I can do that. Keeping her there is the challenge.

Cool tones are TEMPORARY. On a naturally light canvas like hers, warmth is always going to make its way back through as her color fades. Even with professional products, lukewarm water, minimal heat, sun protection and great home care… some warmth is inevitable. All of those things help slow the fade, but they can’t stop it.

It’s something we’ve talked about for years: I can give you the cool brunette of your dreams, but maintaining that exact tone between appointments also comes with realistic expectations.

Sometimes the hardest part of color isn’t achieving the goal… it’s understanding how that color is going to live between appointments. 🤎
