If your middle schooler came home from career day saying they think the wanna be a cosmetologist, it’s probably because of me. Thank you Indian Woods Middle School for inviting me to career day. I enjoyed every moment of time I volunteered! Just to see the kids light up with excitement and wonder ♥️ it made me feel like I had purpose. I truly enjoy teaching, it’s such a passion of mine.

Or you can book me to do it for you. But, learning to care for your hair is a life long tool no one can take away from you. It’s essential. I mean Come on, this IS your head of hair. YOUR CROWNING GLORY.

• Maybe, maybe not. Y’all are getting tired of me talking about the importance of detangling your hair. Daily on average we shed about 50-100 hair per day. So imagine having your hair not combed after a week.. after 4 weeks… after 6 weeks…after 8 weeks. 😱 Jesus!! I know right! That’s gonna be a lot of shedded hair once you’re ready to DETANGLE.

•Pro Tip: never EVER wash your hair before detangling! You’re going to regret it sister girl! Wet your hair or use a spray bottle with a mixture of conditioner and water, or a detangling spray to saturate your hair in sections. I highly suggest using small sections to ensure the least amount of breakage. Start from the ends (ALWAYS) and comb or use a detangling brush to move toward the base of the head (scalp).

• Once you have gone through and detangled your hair, you will notice shedding hair. It’s OK this is all a part of the hair cycle. If you think you’re done, you’re probably not lol. You have not fully detangled your hair until you can brush from your scalp all the way to the ends, smoothly with no pausing or yanking.

• After smoothly brushing through your hair and the process of shedding hair has ended. Then proceed to shampoo your hair. Once you get to the conditioning portion of cleansing your hair. Go ahead and use your detangling brush to brush through your hair while the conditioner softens your hair. You may see more shedding. It’s OK just keep swimming Dory. Lol no seriously you’re just helping release more hair that has been waiting to be shed.

• lf you follow these directions, you’ll make hair day a breeze. Also, your hair care professional will appreciate your efforts on the day that you have to visit the Salon.
