Beautycounter is a disruptive beauty brand dedicated to radical transparency. Our mission is to get safe products into the hands of everyone. Take the job!
Beautycounter creates safer, high-performing beauty and personal care products for the entire family, and believes you never need to compromise your health. Decades of studies indicate that serious health issues (including but not limited to asthma, cancer, and infertility) are on the rise and are due in some part to our ongoing exposure to toxic chemicals—whether it’s in the shower, on our commut
e, while we eat lunch at a local restaurant, or when we clean our kitchens at home. There are more than 80,000 chemicals on the market today. Many don’t have any safety data. This is particularly true of those used in the skin care and beauty industry. What’s worse is that the Food and Drug Administration (the agency that regulates cosmetics in the United States) allows companies to use chemicals known to be extremely harmful in the products we put on our bodies and on our kids’ bodies every single day, day after day, and to make their own judgments about safety. It's time for a change. The United States has not passed a major federal law to regulate the safety of ingredients used in personal care products since 1938. Over the past two decades, the European Union has banned more than 1,300 chemicals in the product formulas of personal care products and restricted the levels of over 250 more in such products. The United States has only partially banned 11 to date. Researchers have found more than 300 chemicals in the umbilical cord blood of newborn babies, rendering them pre-polluted even before birth. Thousands of untested chemicals are in our everyday products, our homes and inside of us. Simultaneously, the prevalence of many diseases continues to rise. We deserve better, and we're doing something about it. At Beautycounter, we’re committed to a health and safety standard that goes well beyond what’s required by U.S. law: We’ve banned the use of more than 1,500 questionable or harmful chemicals through our "Never List” - all while ensuring our products perform and that they are as indulgent as any other luxe shampoo, lipstick, or oil in the market. It’s not easy work, but it’s well worth it. This is about progress—not perfection. Because every little bit counts. I have always had extremely sensitive skin ever since I was a teen and have tried many products over the years to find something that best suited my skin. I had my first child in 2015, and I found myself caring more about what I was putting on my and my daughters skin and quickly realized that most everything in my bathroom and kitchen that I used on a daily basis was riddled with harmful ingredients, so I decided to give Beautycounter products a try. I slowly continued to try new products and just kept loving each one. Then in November 2016 I decided to join forces with Beautycounter and be a part of the solution. Beautycounter is a B-Corp, which makes us very different from most companies. In the United States, a benefit corporation is a type of for-profit corporate entity, authorized by 30 U.S. states and the District of Columbia that includes positive impact on society, workers, the community and the environment in addition to profit as its legally defined goals. Basically, a B-Corp is responsible for three bottom lines: People, Planet and Profit. We need more educators to help raise awareness of the issues surrounding the beauty industry, and to continue to have an impact in Washington D.C. What if you could build a business and make a social impact at the same time? Hence, Take the job with Beautycounter. HERE'S HOW TO GET INVOLVED AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE:
*As a Client - begin the switch to safer.
*As a Band of Beauty Member - be rewarded for switching to safer products.
*As a Hostess - host a social or an educational hour with some friends and qualify for free and half off safe products.
*As a Consultant - educate your network, share our safe products and mission and effect change. TEXT BETTERBEAUTY TO 52886 NOW, AND ASK CONGRESS TO CLEAN UP COSMETICS.

Do you know what's in your everyday facial mask? Make the Clean Swap. Beautycounter Facial Masks contain naturally-derived glycerin, which helps condition and soften skin, not PEGs, which are widely used in cosmetics as thickeners or solvent and can possibly be contaminated with trace amounts of dangerous chemicals.
