POV: You’re the mother of the groom.

If there was ever a mama’s boy, this was mine. The little hand that was always reaching for mine. The one who shared my sense of humor. The one who could make me laugh when no one else could. The one who just got me.

And then one day, you look up and he’s standing at the altar, a life of his own.

I’ll admit, there are bittersweet moments. Not because I don’t love his bride. I do. Not because I wish things were different. I don’t. It’s simply the realization that the little boy you raised has become the man you prayed he'd become.

The man who now gets to love, protect, encourage, and build a life with the woman God chose for him.

And as I watched him become a husband, I wasn’t losing a son. I was gaining the privilege of watching his next chapter unfold. A chapter I know he’ll do well because he’s had the example of a good father, a loving family, and a lifetime of lessons that prepared him for this moment.

So yes, I cried.

But mostly because my heart was so full.

Full of gratitude.
Full of pride.
Full of joy.

And excited for the beautiful life they’re building together. ❤️
