As we approach our one-year anniversary, I’ve been reflecting on how much this past year has meant to me.

Coming from salon suites for over 10 years into a salon environment again was honestly a huge adjustment. Being surrounded by so many strong, talented women with different personalities, opinions, styles, and strengths could have felt intimidating — but instead, it became something so special.

Over this past year, I’ve created friendships and bonds with women that I truly adore. We spend so much time together — sometimes more than we spend with our own families — and I feel incredibly grateful for the environment we’ve created together.

Every single stylist here brings something unique and valuable to this salon. Whether it’s talent, humor, kindness, creativity, hustle, strength, support, or simply the energy each person brings into the room, every one of you has played a part in making this place what it is.

Shae, Dianna, Makenzie, Jessica, Cote, Natalie, Daniele, Kaitlynn, Jill, Megan, Justine — I could honestly write something amazing about every single one of you. You’ve all impacted me in different ways and helped me grow not only as a stylist, but as a person too.

I genuinely look forward to coming to work every day because of the people in this salon. The laughs, conversations, encouragement, chaos, support, and memories we’ve shared over this last year have meant more to me than you probably know.

Gray coverage vs. gray blending—both are beautiful techniques, and each has its place depending on the client’s goals and natural level.

For guests who are partially gray, gray blending can create a soft, dimensional grow-out and a more lived-in look. However, when a guest is 100% gray, trying to “blend” often means working against the natural canvas rather than enhancing it.

In these cases, I prefer a seamless, lighter coverage approach—working with the natural gray instead of fighting it. This allows for a softer, more natural result, better longevity, and less noticeable regrowth.

It’s never about one technique being better than another—it’s about choosing the right method for the individual and creating the most flattering, low-maintenance outcome for them to ❤️
