I’m still on cloud nine thinking about our one-on-ones this month.

I genuinely cannot believe The Social is TWO years old.

We started with eight, and somehow that first eight turned into 18 of the most talented, purposeful, slightly unhinged people I could ever ask to build this with.

Watching this place grow has been one of the coolest things I’ve ever experienced. Not always easy. Definitely not always pretty. But worth every single growing pain.

One of the questions I get asked the most is, “Where do you find these stylists?”

Honestly? This is one of the easier parts.

I genuinely love helping salon owners and stylists. I believe it’s part of my ministry, so here is the truth:

Be authentic. Be clear. And be loud about what you are building.

Your people will find you.

When you clearly communicate your structure, standards, support, expectations, and opportunities for growth, it cuts through the BS pretty quickly.

It attracts stylists who want to be coached, challenged, supported, and surrounded by other high performers.

It also weeds out the ones who want to hide, hobby-hairstyle, avoid accountability, or simply aren’t willing to put in the work.

And that is okay.

A room full of high performers is uncomfortable for someone who doesn’t want to perform. They wouldn’t be happy here, and we wouldn’t be the right salon for them either.

Being clear saves everyone time, money, and disappointment.

When we hire someone, we invest thousands into them almost immediately through education, coaching, supplies, marketing, support, and actual time. We need to be sure they want what we are building just as much as we want them to succeed inside of it.
