Being your big sister has always been one of my greatest blessings. Watching you grow into the amazing man you are today has made me so proud. Through every challenge life has thrown your way, including your journey with MS, you continue to show strength, resilience, and determination in a way that inspires everyone around you. I admire your strength more than you know, and I’ll always support you in every way possible. No matter how old we get, I’ll forever be the big sister looking over you… even with a fractured wrist lol 😁
You are an amazing Husband, Father, Brother, and Son and being “Slice” is super dope too! It makes me smile every time we’re out and I see people genuinely light up with excitement just to see you or meet you. Mother’s Day is that one day out of the year like any other special holiday where moms are celebrated, appreciated, loved on, shown gratitude, and reminded just how special we truly are. Not saying those things shouldn’t happen every day, but Mother’s Day is supposed to feel like that extra booster shot for our hearts.
Becoming a mother is one of the hardest choices you’ll ever make, and motherhood is some of the hardest work you’ll ever do. It can bring pain in every form imaginable… but it also introduces you to a level of love you never knew existed. A happiness you never thought was possible. A connection that begins the very first time you feel them move inside your belly and never fades from the moment you first look into their little faces.
Motherhood gives us strength we didn’t even know we had. It pushes us, motivates us, transforms us, and somehow turns us into someone phenomenal. It is truly one of the most amazing experiences in the world.
So no matter how life unfolds as they grow older, become adults, or face their own challenges, find peace in knowing you gave them the tools they needed. You showed them love, guidance, and how to be a good human being. And never forget that very first decision to become a mother was one of the hardest choices of them all, and with God’s guidance, you became dope as hell because of it.

This injury has affected me in ways I didn’t fully expect not just physically, but mentally and emotionally as a cosmetologist. Doing hair isn’t just my job, it’s my passion, my outlet, and a huge part of who I am. Being limited right now has honestly been hard to sit with.
But I have to say thank you to my clients and my family for keeping my spirits up through all of this. You all understand how much I love what I do, and that’s exactly why this has been so tough for me. The love, patience, and encouragement I’ve received has meant more than words can explain.
God is still in control though, and I’m reminded daily that this is just a season of healing not a stop, just a pause. I will be okay. I will recover. And I will get back to doing what I love with even more gratitude than before.

I have to take a moment and speak to myself…
Jess,You’ve been through a lot; but through God and prayer, you’ve done good (in my Pop Pop voice). And I mean that!
I wasn’t even feeling emotional about turning 50 at first but mentally and spiritually, I feel regenerated….Renewed…..Realigned. I understand now God has been preparing me all along. In my the past couple months there were emotional setbacks… but they made me stronger. There was a physical setback (💃🏽💃🏽💪🏽)… but it made me even more resilient.
Everything didn’t break me it BUILT me.This chapter feels different. It feels intentional. It feels aligned with purpose. I’m walking into 50 with more clarity, strength, peace, and a deeper relationship with God than ever before.I know now that every lesson, every delay, every challenge had a purpose. God has a plan for every chapter of my life and this one right here? I’m READY!!!!To growth,To healing, To elevation, and To walking fully in my purpose.
