Today, I had the incredible opportunity to be a Guest Speaker at Empire Beauty School for Career Day! 💈✂️
Standing in front of future beauty professionals and sharing my journey—from being behind the chair to becoming a business owner—was a full-circle moment for me.
I didn't just go there to talk about cutting hair. I went there to talk about VISION, BUSINESS, PURPOSE, RESILIENCE & BELIEVING IN YOURSELF. 👑
I reminded these future professionals that their license is only the beginning. Your skill may get the client in the chair, but your professionalism, reputation, brand and vision can take you so much further.
I even challenged them to start thinking like CEOs, not just employees. 💰📈
Because the next generation doesn't just need people to show them how to work…
They need people to show them what's possible.
I'm grateful to Empire Beauty School for allowing me to share my story and hopefully plant a few seeds today. 🌱

Everybody sees the ribbon cutting.
Everybody sees the ch*****ne.
Everybody sees the finished shop.
Everybody sees the smiles.
But THIS… this is what they didn’t see.
The signatures on the lease.
The empty rooms.
The painting.
The cleaning.
The late nights.
The early mornings.
The exhaustion.
The pressure.
The doubt.
The sacrifices.
The blood, sweat & tears.
Every wall in Tapers Haircuts has a story.
I didn’t just open a barbershop.
I BUILT THIS.
From an idea in my head… to a key in my hand… to a dream with my name on it.
There were moments I was tired.
Moments I questioned everything.
Moments I had absolutely NO idea how I was going to pull it all together.
But I kept going.
Because sometimes God will give you a vision so big that you have no choice but to become the person capable of carrying it.
And now?
