The newest award that will be presented this year at the FNN Awards Night & Dinner is our TEAM OF THE YEAR. The winning team will receive an individual trophy and the school will be presented with the giant FNN TEAM OF THE YEAR perpetual trophy and base to reside in the school's lobby until the next season concludes.

Unlike the PLAYER and COACH OF THE YEAR nominees, the TEAM OF THE YEAR nominees are not required to appear/play on FNN during the season. The only stipulation is that the teams selected for nomination are from the immediate FNN viewing area.

The teams selected will be voted on by the fans, which accounts for 25% of the overall vote total. FNN personnel will vote (15%). Finally, all coaches (excluding any whose team is nominated) that played on FNN during the 2022 season will receive a ballot. The overall coaches' vote will account for 60% of the final results.

The four teams selected for the 2022 season are:

ANNISTON BULLDOGS - Anniston went undefeated during the regular season, winning the tough 4A-Region 4 championship. The Bulldogs played into the quarter-finals of the playoffs before falling to eventual state champion Andalusia. Anniston finished with an 11-1 record.

B B COMER TIGERS - In just his fifth season in Sylacauga, Coach Adam Fossett delivered his team's second 10+ win season and first trip to the state finals since the inception of the Super 7. The Tigers went unbeaten in region play, capturing their first region crown since 1995. Comer made it all the way to the 2A state championship game, losing to Fyffe. The Tigers completed the 2022 season with a 12-3 record.

CHEROKEE COUNTY WARRIORS - There was more than new turf in Centre this season. Coach Jacob Kelley's Warriors displayed a gritty toughness that started 2022 with a win over top-rated Piedmont and by season's end, landed them atop the 4A-Region 6 standings. The Warriors battled through the playoffs making it into the 4A title game by avenging an early season loss to region foe Oneonta. Cherokee County lost in the 4A finals to Andalusia. The Warriors finished 2022 with a 12-3 record.

COOSA CHRISTIAN CONQUERORS - The 2022 campaign started off slowly for Mark O'Bryant's 1A program, losing 4 of their first 6 outings. But by mid-season, the magic started to happen and this team sprinted into the playoffs. They avenged an early season loss to Spring Garden in the 2nd round...knocked off Lynn in the 3rd round and were a hail mary play away from beating Pickens County to earn the school's first-ever trip to the 1A finals - but it wasn't to be. Coosa Christian finished the season at 9-5.

So which one of these four programs deserves to be FNN's 2022 TEAM OF THE YEAR - Click this link to cast your vote - https://fridaynightnetwork.secondstreetapp.com/FNN-2022-TEAM-OF-THE-YEAR/

You can only vote once! Fan voting will end on Friday, January 9th at 9 PM.
