PSA
My friends many of you have miss understood my previous post regarding semi retirement…

For the record, I am not going anywhere!

I AM NOT RETIRING!!!

Semi retirement looks different to everyone
My version includes taking an extra vacation a year and maybe a couple more beach days 🏖️🩳
That’s about it

* I will still welcome clients
* I will still work same hours
* I will still honor referrals and new clients

I’m eager to do what I love well into my 60’s and 70’s and beyond!

I’m not going anywhere
And when you call for your regular (or irregular) appointments I will be glad to see you for as long as I’m kicking! 😁

!!!Spread the word!!!
💈 I’M NOT GOING ANYWHERE💈
😁🥂🏖️❤️🥰✂️🪮👙😊🫈🎈☕️

Happy day my friends 😊❤️

A note to my incredible clientele ✂️

Thank you — for your loyalty, your support and all the fun over the years.
This year is on track for perhaps Big Wig’s biggest year yet!
I am humbled and incredibly fortunate.
☺️

I’ve got two things to share with you all:

First
This year I’ll be “semi” retiring.
Yes it’s time!
🍾🥂

I’m not really going anywhere but I am refining my practice.

Although I only work with people I really connect with, streamlining my availability and tightening up my clientele is indeed daunting but unavoidable.

And even after 40 years in the business, (serving Lower Puna for nearly 20!) I still love what I do and with whom I work.
That’s all you!
So for that, THANK YOU!!!

Secondly
After holding my prices steady for the last 4 years, a 10–15% increase across services will take effect starting September 1 (well below COLA’s 25% increase over the last 4 years).

And as I share the economic struggles along with my community, it’s clear that raising service prices is sensitive but also necessary.

With 40 years in the business please understand you’re paying for more than just a haircut, you’re paying for experience and a satisfaction guarantee. 🏆
And of course my charming personality. 😁

The new pricing will be updated and posted.

If you have any concerns please just come talk to me — my door is always open.

With endless beauty, love and dignity,
Mitch
Big Wig Salon

Y’all know the nostalgia of the holidays means a lot to me
It’s a time we remember who’s important
And to honor them
🎁
I’m so grateful for you!
Grateful for the opportunity to care for your hair
But it doesn’t stop there
The relationships we’ve built over the years have humbled me
Thank you for your trust

With your loyalty and dedication Big Wig Salon broke more records!

* Color was the most frequently requested service again this year
And requested 12% more than last year 🧐😜😍
Specifically Softcolor ℠ services!
Unbelievable!
I love doing color and apparently you love it too so let’s go!

* Named Nextdoor’s Favorite salon again! …for four straight years! Thank you for the nominations and votes
🏆🏆🏆 🏆

* I’ve had 14% more referrals than last year 😜
Please continue to TELL YOUR FRIENDS!!!

* Gift certificates sales slightly increased again from the previous year as well 💳

* Also gratuity was off the charts this year 🧧
The mention of tips is typically taboo but I’m just overwhelmed by the power of “extra” love
Gratuity tells me you appreciate the extras like my insisting on clear consult communications, spending extra time on the fine details of your service, sharing product and tool knowledge to ensure you get max mileage out of your cuts and colors and debunking common myths around hair and hair care 🙅

Yes, it all takes time and energy and I am here for it!

The extra ♥️💰♥️ really just just proves it’s worth it and frankly, it just melts my heart
🥹

Next year marks 40 professional years in the beauty and image industry
I’ve been serving lower Puna for over 15 of those years
To successfully spend nearly half my career here has been an honor and I am humbled by your continued support and dedication 🫶🏼

The bar is high but I know next year will be bigger, better and even more gorgeous for us all

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones🎄
And Happy New Year!!!🥳
May next year bring prosperity🖖🏼
and peace ✌🏼

Best and warmest aloha 🤙🏼

Big Wig Salon

It’s been a while since ive posted on my Big Wig account. So just to say HI I’m still here, I’m playing a little game this fall. Just for fun. If it rains while you’re here at the studio I’ll give you five bucks off your cut. Just a little game of chance. Good luck. Only for the month of October. Hope to see you soon!
