I wrote this nearly 17 years ago and updated it now for the time in my career in the Electrology profession. Hope you enjoy it!

My Career as an Electrologist, Mary Federico, CT., LE

Each day as I rise, before the crack of noon,
I drive to my clinic - in my head is a tune.
To make someone happy, confident and smile,
Yep, that's me, to go the extra mile!

My lady comes in with a grin and a dollar,
Today I shall promise not to make her holler.
And to refrain from thinking that I am diabolical
When I approach with a probe to disable a follicle.

My confidence won't waiver as you succumb to my hand,
You've come to the right place - the best in the land!
And in over 40 years, I've never been stalled,
In spite of the jokes and the names I've been called!

And to prove to you that I genuinely care,
I'll never make fun of your bothersome hair.
I understand your fear - in me you've placed trust,
My hand calm and steady, precision a must!

I know it's no fun to commit as you do,
This invasion of your privacy and your little secrets, too.
And as your face brightens up and your spirits are lifted,
I think to myself, "Gee, I am truly gifted!"

For each client is a blessing and from each I can learn,
What life is about and on a dime it can turn.
That each one is special and has a mystique,
The next one I treat is just as unique.

Four and half decades have passed since I first held a probe,
When we both were on edge when you had to disrobe!
Now the age-old question, "Where has time gone?"
But I postpone retirement, as it's simply the dawn!

Acknowledging my 46th anniversary of the day I was thrilled to receive my license from The Ohio State Medical Board in Cosmetic Therapy! February 1, 1978! Although semi-retired, I continue to work and still making my clients feel good about themselves by improving their image and self confidence by removing unwanted facial and body hair through ELECTROLYSIS. Such a rewarding profession! I have enjoyed every day of this unique profession. I have been truly blessed by the good Lord in keeping my eyes and my neck, shoulders and back (for the most part) strong and steady to continue my talents. Happy Anniversary to me!!!🎈🎈🎈
