When I’m back home in Northeast Ohio, connecting with constituents, small business owners and community leaders is one of my favorite things to do because I get a feel for the concerns and needs of the people who sent me to Washington to represent them and find out how I can continue to support their success.

Last week, I had the opportunity to do just that when I took a Main Street tour of Painesville City, where folks from Downtown Painesville joined me in stopping into several local stores including:

- Unique Like Me, a vocational skills training site for Ohioans with developmental disabilities, giving them the tools, skills, and confidence they need to get involved in their community.

- Bella Donna Salon and Spa, which has been in business for over 30 years, and a local florist, Flowers on Main.

- The Local Flavors Shoppe, a grocery store specializing in goods made within 150 miles of Painesville.

I can’t wait to schedule more Main Street Tours across OH-14 and will continue to do everything I can to support pro-growth policies at the federal level that allow small businesses to continue to thrive and enhance our communities. Because when Main Street is thriving, so are hardworking families and our economy as a whole.
