Trial v. Wedding Day👀
This bride went somewhere else originally before she booked with us 1 week before her wedding day. Why did the original trial fail? Let’s talk about it!

1) finding someone that specializes in bridal is so important. Bridal specialists understand the flow of the day, generally understand bridal issues that they can trouble shoot immediately, AND they are trained to make sure hair and makeup last longer.

2) you’re not looking at the right portfolio. If you are someone specifically looking for Hollywood waves, but the artist you booked has ZERO photos of Hollywood waves on their profile… you better RUN. If you are looking for a soft glam makeup artist, and all the portfolios you look at are heavy full glam makeup, you better RUN.
Look for a portfolio that shows you exactly what you envision on the wedding day.

3) communication. While it can be scary to say what you mean, hair and makeup artists cannot read your mind. You must be able to tell them what you like and what you don’t like. If you can’t communicate, you are most likely going to hate your hair and makeup. Also it’s the artists’ job to make sure they are open to feedback. If you have someone who cannot listen, takes offense to feedback, pushes you on aspects of the hair and makeup that make you uncomfortable, FIND A NEW ARTIST. If you don’t like how heavy your eyebrows are and the makeup artist says, “no, they look good” and refuses to fix it? GIRL BYE.

This bride asked for Hollywood waves and soft glam with brown eyeshadow. Sadly the original artist told her to buy pre curled extensions, and did not listen to what the bride was requesting. When she came in for her trial with us, we learned that the extensions were not usable. They were far too curly, and did not work with the Hollywood waves she was wanting. Instead, we opted for fluffy waves to be more low maintenance for her wedding day + she had a TON of hair of her own! Thank goodness! We softened her makeup at the trial, however on the wedding day, she requested full glam but much softer features. She loved it all!
