A Little Off The Top

The valet brought my truck around this morning and asked, “Sir, what are you cooking on the back of that truck?”

I laughed and told him it was a cube feeder we use to feed cows. He looked at me a little puzzled, so I took a minute to explain it. He said, “I’ve never heard of such a thing.”

That got me thinking.

That’s really how it is with Christ. We sometimes assume everyone knows. We take it for granted. But not everybody does.

Just like not everyone knows what a range cube feeder is, not everyone truly knows who Jesus Christ is.

My grandchildren know what a range cube feeder is because they’ve watched their granddad and their dad use one for years. They’ve seen it lived out in front of them.

It’s the same with our faith. We have to be willing to slow down, explain it one step at a time, and use the opportunities God places in front of us.

Don’t be tunnel-minded. Look at the bigger picture.

Use every opportunity you have to tell someone about Jesus.

Because we should never assume they already know.
