Not many people know that you don't need a referral to see a Physical Therapist. The APTA has worked diligently to get Direct Access benefits in each state for the people. This can be the first step in your journey to reducing pain and increasing functionality! I frequently recommend people go just for an evaluation to find out what their range of motion, strength, and postural limitations are. With this information you know where and what to work on! Knowledge is power. Below is the list of states and the restrictions they may or may not have for seeing a PT without a referral.
