A lot of times, we don't realize our skin is dehydrated, especially when it feels oily! When dehydrated skin lacks water, it is very efficient in making up for that loss of lubrication by producing oil. This results in oily, breakout prone skin with an unstable barrier. Dry skin, on the other hand, lacks water but is unable to produce oil. There are two very different ways to go about treating these deceptively similar conditions.
