Hey, I’m JJ and I have been a licensed hairstylist for over 10 years now. I started my career at The Chop Shop in Safety Harbor, where I apprenticed until I became a licensed cosmetologist. I learned so much from the Stylists there and I am eternally grateful to them.
I later then moved on to Sport Clips, which allowed me to really hone my craft and build up my clientele while providing excellent services and cuts. I took a lot of time and dedication to become excellent in men’s cuts and fades. I also competed in Sports Clips’ nationwide competition, “The Look,” where I was awarded best haircut in the state twice. There, I also learned what it meant to be in a management position and was a brand ambassador. Being a brand ambassador allowed me to travel to different schools to teach the future of my industry.
I later made a move back to The Chop Shop as an independent contractor for a year or so, before starting my own shop with a good friend in 2022. It was a great experience and made me truly see I can run my own business which is what brings me to now, opening up this new venture all on my own, JJ’s Custom Cuts.
This shop is a labor of love from all my hard work, dedication, blood, sweat and tears over the years. All my hard work and sacrifices got me to this moment and it is all thanks to my wonderful clients who stuck by me. You truly see the value in my art. Without you this would have never happened. I am honored to continue serving you as well as growing my business to serve new clientele. This industry is always evolving and so am I. My promise to you is to continue to keep serving you with top tier service, cuts, staying on top of trends, etc.
