Why Do Brows Age❓
Here’s a great example of a yearly Powder Brow touch-up. Both brows faded naturally and evenly, but you can still see some of the original cool/gray pigment underneath, and how I color corrected the left one.
So why does this happen?
Permanent makeup pigment doesn’t stay exactly the same forever. Over time, the skin naturally breaks down and metabolizes the pigment, and the color can soften or shift depending on skin type, sun exposure, skincare, lifestyle, healing, and individual body chemistry.
And not everyone needs touch-ups on the same schedule. Some clients may benefit from a yearly refresh, while others can go 2–3 years or even longer before they need one.
There’s no “one-size-fits-all” timeline with permanent makeup. ✨
At each touch-up, we look at how your pigment has aged and determine whether you need a simple refresh or a color adjustment to keep your brows looking balanced and beautiful. 🤎
