Time To Change Your Skin Care Routine
We refresh our wardrobes with the changing seasons, so why do so many of us stick with the same old skin care products month after month? Your skin is your largest living organ, constantly in flux while adapting to environmental fluctuations like humidity, UV intensity, and pollution. To keep up with your skin’s ever-changing needs, here are some expert tips to change up your skin care routine.

NEW SUNSCREEN IS A MUST.
Sunscreen contains active ingredients which lose their potency and effectiveness over time. To ensure your skin is protected, updating your sunscreen formulations at least once a season is essential. Prevention+ daily matte moisturizer SPF 30 Sunscreen is formulated with effective ingredients to protect both the face and body from the effects of damaging UV rays and harsh environmental influences. Image Sunscreen is packed with a combination of physical sunscreens and antioxidants which work in synergy to help protect and enhance your skin’s beauty before, during, and after sun exposure for radiant-looking skin around the clock...

Why are Peptides in Skin Care Products?
We talk about peptides a lot, and our skin care ranges are packed with them, but how much do you really know about peptides and why are they so important in skin care anyway?

What is a peptide?
Peptides are short chains of amino acids that tact as building blocks for proteins in your skin. Proteins are important because they are the foundation of your skin, its supporting structure, if you will. The skin proteins we’re talking about are collagen, elastin and keratin. These essential proteins help your skin maintain its youthful-looking texture, strength and resilience.

Why are peptides in skin care?
Peptides are essentially smaller versions of proteins, making them more easily delivered to the skin and body than larger proteins. Peptides act like little messengers, triggering the skin to increase the benefits of more collagen and elastin. That’s why it makes sense to pack skin care formulas with specific peptides to encourage youthful- looking skin.

At All About Skin Spa we are proud to offer our clients Viktoria De Ann Peptide Cosmeceuticals...

Hey Guys,

It is getting hot outside and summer is around the corner, so here are 7 tips to keep your skin looking your best.

Here we go.

1| Wash Your Face Before Sleeping
I know after a long hard day, in the end, the bed looks good. But not washing away all the dirt and grime from the day is just asking for a trouble and possible breakouts.

After you clean your skin with a facial cleanser, remember to moisturize it. You will thank yourself for that in later adult age.

2| Be Sure To Get Some Sleep
As you sleep, your skin goes into repair and regeneration mode. Not getting a full seven - eight hours of sleep disrupts your skin’s healing process, which can worsen the appearance of blemishes and give you dark under-eye circles.

Not only that, but a lack of sleep can indirectly increase your cortisol levels. Cortisol levels triggers the skin’s sebaceous glands to produce more oil. Oily skin can cause zits and acne.

3| Try To Avoid Sugar
Sugar is in most foods and is known to exacerbate acne and cause breakouts.

It’s not just sugar that you need to worry about. Any high-glycemic foods that your body must convert into glucose can cause your insulin levels to spike, which then sends a burst of inflammation throughout your body. During COVID-19, your immune system needs to be strong and not be compromised.

4| Exfoliating Your Skin
Dead skin cells can clog up pores and cause breakouts. Exfoliating twice a week with a face scrub can help slough off dead skin cells to prevent zits and pimples, as well as keep your skin youthful and healthy.

Just be careful not to overdo it. Exfoliating more than twice a week can dry out your skin, especially when it is hot outside, or slightly sun burned on your face. By the way, shaving is exfoliating.

5| Make a Skin Care Routine and Stick To It
It’s time for us to squash this dangerous myth once and for all. Your skincare routine doesn’t need to be complicated! All you need are the skincare basics that are easy to use, take little time to apply and are designed for regular guys.

6| Stay Hydrated
Skin needs moisture from the inside out. Try to drink six to eight glasses of H2O a day. Also, keep tabs on how much alcohol and caffeine you’re gulping down. Both can make you dehydrated; but, drinking coffee hot or iced, or booze along with food and water can help counter the dehydrating effects.

7| Don’t Stress out
In this pandemic, sheltering-in-place, working from home, or being unemployed cause stress. Stress wreaks havoc on your skin, too. Getting frazzled throws hormone levels into flux, which damages healthy skin cells and makes you more prone to breakouts and wrinkles. Because you won’t find a bottle of zen in the skincare aisle, recharge and relax by doing what you love, whether it’s exercising by walking, hiking, biking, swimming or just cracking open a new book. All About Skin will be open as soon as we get the OK from the City and Governor Newsom to reopen.
