My client likes a short classic bob with cool, pale blonde hair that has dimension and little maintenance. Every few weeks she comes in for a root touchup and occasionally we add some soft lowlights to break things up a little. The result is beautiful. Remember this transformation from almost one year ago? We've come from bright red home color to a gun metal silver and now we've transitioned to blonde with natural curl. With Kevin Murphy Color.me color and bleach as well as Olaplex I've been able to gently achieve these kinds of transformations and still maintain the integrity of my clients hair. My client has been using Kevin Murphy hair care at home. Notice the improvement in her natural curl. But, now Kevin Murphy has launched is new Color.Me color care line with bond builder in the product. I've used it a couple of times now and I'm blown away with the shine and condition of the hair. Listening carefully to my clients' concerns and desires, has always been my priority and what my clients frequently say makes me different. It requires me to be creative and versatile with my approach - keeping me current and challenged.

My French client has fine hair with a few greys and didn't want a full tint, preferring to have a more natural look that wouldn't require as much maintenance. I call it minimizing the grey. I mix two batches of the exact same color but with two different volumes of developer, one to weave in lowlights and the other to weave in a few highlights while still allowing a few greys to remain. She drives in from LA because every time she has tried someone local (even when in Paris) they insist on covering all the grey and doing more intense blonding (balayage). My client is always happy with the result.

S**g Me Baby! My client had a limited amount of time so I had to work quickly! I applied a few strategically placed highlights. For her cut she asked for layers, layers, layers. I told her you're going S**g or at least one of so many variations of a s**g. To save time, I smoothed out her bangs and diffused the rest of her hair but not completely, to avoid frizz. In total, it took me about an hour and fifteen minutes. But, when it's all completely dry you have a stunning result fit for any occasion and it will take just a few minutes for her to style her own hair.

Having beautiful hair takes work. Clients often say, "I don't want to have to use product or spend time blow-drying my hair". In some rare cases, this can be true. My dear friend and client Regine has difficult hair that is dry, coarse, frizzy and pulls a lot of warmth. It's also complicated by her living in a different state and having different people working on her hair using different brands of color. I was going to do a Keratin Smoothing Treatment on her this week but unfortunately, her limited time in Palm Springs allowed only enough time to do a light Balayage application and cut. With Kevin Murphy's Smooth Blow-dry Spray and a little Young Again Oil, I'd say we achieved a nice look.

My client wanted to change things up a bit. She discovered she love texture, so after highlighting her hair I gave her a trim. The great thing about these types of cuts and color, is that you're not locked in to just one look. You can grow it out a little, go shorter, vary the blonde. Using a toner can really change things up. Enjoy!

People call them by different names but white walls seem to be the most common term I've heard used for white patches and sections of white/grey hair. My sister had them, so I touched up her haircut then applied some lowlights using black with some blue for a perfect blend to suit her dark salt and pepper hair. The result was amazing! You'd never know she has them, while the process was simple and fast.

Like so many people out there, my client struggles with coarse, frizzy hair and would complain about how nice her hair looks when I do it but she is not able to tame her frizz herself. I recommended Goldwell's Kerasilk Control Smoothing Treatment and afterwards I did her color. I convinced her to let me lighten her color and stop doing highlights (to save a little $$) this way the grey which is more prominent around her top and front hairline will act as a natural highlight. She has loved this plan and the smoothing treatment, saying that it has made her styling regimen much easier and her hair look great!

I did my client's highlights a couple of weeks ago. Today she came in for a trim and a clear treatment. I take pride in listening to my clients and, happy clients are very important to me.
