Palm Springs is often sought as a get-away from the everyday stresses of life; a place to relax, sit by the pool, drink, do nothing. You can predictably wake up to blue skies and sunshine 350 days of the year and know that it will either be warm OR hot. There are no cold days in the desert (at least by pretty much everyone else's standards in the northern hemisphere). The small towns that make up the desert no longer become a series of sunny retreats, but instead distinct areas with their own hidden gems. Thus, I bring you Desert Wanderlust, an outsider's perspective from the inside and comprehensive guide of things to do in Palm Springs and surrounding areas. Many free days have been spent exploring what this valley has to offer by ways of sightseeing, eating, drinking, and shopping! So, while you're in the desert – definitely spend some time catching up on a bit of R and R, read a book, get a tan ...but if you feel the itch to explore, there's no excuse of having nothing to do.

Lunchtime eats: Frankinbun– fresh cut fries, vegetarian friendly Spicy Mexican sausage and grilled onions on a brioche bun with a side of pickled cabbage and potato salad ...made it a combo and got some A-Class Rootbeer.
The pickings for carnivores also looked quite tasty.

Just found out Oh Joy! stopped by and gave us a little blog love
what we did in palm springs (with kids)... - Oh Joy! Palm Springs has always been one of our easy getaway locations ever since moving to Los Angeles six years ago. It's warm, quiet, filled with lots of great design, and it's all within two hours (give or take with traffic)....
Today is our final day open. We'll be here until 4pm. Almost everything is 50% off!
