While underage drinking is a serious concern in Alaska, it’s important to know that most Alaska teens choose not to drink. In fact, according to the 2013 Alaska Youth Risk Behavioral Survey, 78% of Alaska teens don’t drink. The Alaska Wellness Coalition launched the campaign to support a statewide Positive Community Norms (PCN) effort to reduce underage alcohol use. It aims to prevent and reduce drinking among teens; reduce the perception of drinking prevalence among teens; and build hope that communities can work together to reduce risk and create positive change.
