Bain Blends Beard & Skin

Over the last several months, we have listened to feedback on the fragrance in our oils, and resisted calls to add more fragrance than is safe. So, tomorrow, Oct 4th, 2026 is the day. It makes the official launch of our updated oil.

One of the issues with our blend, unfortunately, is Black Seed oil. It has a peppery almost pencil shaving like scent to it and it drowns out some of the fragrances in the oils. So, it is being removed.

We are in turn adding something new. Camellia seed oil is now going into the mix. It will be the 2nd most abundant oil in the new carrier blend, just under Meadowfoam. Prized for hundreds of years in Japan by Samurai and Geisha's alike, it will add slip to the oil, add a nice range of fats which benefit your skin and beard, and helps scent projection.
The inclusion of Camellia oil makes the oil more expensive to produce, however, I am not going to increase prices.

Also starting tomorrow, all summer scents in the summer fragrance collection will be on sale! Starting at 12:01am Oct 4th, all these fragrances will be 35% off and they will continue to be on sale until they are sold out.

Finally, on Oct 5th we are adding a new oil option. Bain Blends has always taken pride in staying vegan with our oil options. However, we have always wanted to add an oil similar to EMU and Ostrich but ISN'T a bird oil. So, we decided why stop doing something we were already doing, and instead, we are increasing Nilotica Shea to a higher percentage as a Feaux Bird Oil. It has a similar feel, very similar fat structure, will absorb well, and will ultimately layer on the hair as bird oils tend to do.

So, Oct 5th you will have 5 options on each product to select:
Herbal, Non-Herbal, Herbal Gray Beard, Non-Herbal Gray Beard, and our 'NOT BIRD' oil.

The container with the bubbles is the one with no black seed and the new Camellia seed oil. The one with no bubbles has black seed.

Almost no scent at all in the new mix and the scent throw is consistent and strong.

Very excited.

I will be sharing some pictures tomorrow of the differences in color with the blend now (no black seed) and the updated one with the inclusion of the Camellia oil (and still no black seed).

We’ve been testing this thing and it’s already giving that emu/ostrich smoothness people swear by — minus the feathers, attitude, and questionable running speed. But, if the Bird oils or our 'Not Today, Emu' oil isn't for you, we will still carry our 4 main blends: Herbal, Non Herbal, and our Grey Beard versions of both will still be available.

Now, what will it cost? The good news is, it will be the same price as our current oil. Our intention, and it has always been, to keep prices low for what our blend provides. And, with the removal of black seed oil, scent hindrance is going to reduced to a great degree.

I will also be giving away 10, 1/2 oz sample bottles of our Flightless Formula. More on that on the 4th. But, the catch is, I want to get your feedback! If you are already a fan of the Emu and Ostrich blends, I want to hear how our 'Not today, Emu' blend holds up.

Just a little afternoon update.

The white label project I am working on is a custom oil blend and 4 custom built scent profiles. Nothing is a repackaged product from another company nor is it a scent I currently carry...and, It's almost done. I am excited about officially announcing it. But, we aren't quite there yet.

New oil (Camellia) gets here tomorrow and then being blended in. Again, no black seed oil in this mix. Excited how its all going to work/smell. That oil will go into product starting Oct 4th. New Butters will also be Oct 4th.
