We had a wonderful time celebrating America's 250th anniversary at The Hub with an afternoon of ice cream, music, and summer fun.
Our community members enjoyed ice cream sundaes, refreshing lemonade, and live music in a festive outdoor setting. The event was a great opportunity to connect with colleagues and neighbors while commemorating this historic milestone together.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special afternoon at Stanford Research Park.

Consumer wearables have become part of everyday life, but how much do they really know about our health? It was insightful to hear Stanford HAI Fellow Ziv Lautman explore the science behind devices like the Apple Watch, Oura Ring, and Fitbit, separating what today's wearables can reliably measure from where the technology is still evolving.
One of the most interesting takeaways was the potential for these devices to move beyond tracking activity and sleep toward detecting early signs of health conditions such as stress, heart disease, and menopause.
As wearable technology continues to advance, it has the potential to transform how we monitor health, enabling earlier intervention and more personalized care.

A new chapter in cancer care has begun at Stanford Medicine. Recently, a 7-year-old patient became the first person treated at the new proton therapy facility, marking an important milestone for patients and families across Northern California. The innovative technology is designed to deliver highly targeted treatment while reducing radiation exposure to healthy tissue, helping make advanced cancer care more accessible for those who need it most. https://f.mtr.cool/zmtsclcujq
