Being at the AAD Annual Meeting was easily one of the highlights of my year!

There’s something powerful about bringing together so many brilliant minds in one place, not just to learn but to connect in a way that goes beyond surface-level interactions. I had the chance to reconnect with people I rarely see and finally meet in person many who I’ve only known online until now.

What stood out most wasn’t the science or the innovation. It was the people. Hearing life stories, understanding their journeys and why they’re passionate about dermatology and health, and building more meaningful relationships made the experience truly special.

Grateful for these moments, these conversations, and the opportunity to grow alongside such an inspiring community.

The SOCAi team had the opportunity to spend the day at the S.T.R.A.N.D Network Community Event, where we provided hair loss scans and shared valuable insights with participants.

It was wonderful to see my former research assistant, Maria, and my current assistant, Aliyah in person.

We were truly excited to serve the community helping individuals better understand their hair and scalp health through early detection and data-driven guidance. Moments like these remind us why we do what we do: making care more accessible, empowering people with knowledge, and supporting healthier outcomes.

Grateful to the S.T.R.A.N.D Network for the collaboration and for creating such a meaningful platform to connect and make an impact.

After a near-death experience caused by a misdiagnosis, I began to see my own health and our healthcare system differently.

During my chronic illness, I experienced how often patients are left with uncertainty. Hair loss and skin conditions were typically assessed visually, relying on clinical expertise but without consistent, objective ways to measure change over time, even when the impact on patients was deeply personal.
I built SOCAi to help add clarity to that process!

SOCAi uses visual AI to support clinicians by objectively measuring hair loss and skin conditions, tracking changes over time, and enabling more informed, data-driven decisions. The goal isn’t to replace clinical judgment, but to strengthen it while giving patients more confidence and trust in their care.

Better data leads to better conversations. And better conversations lead to better outcomes.

Why Standardization Matters More Than People Realize
Hair loss care depends on patterns over time.
But patterns are hard to see when data is captured differently at every visit and across every practice.

Dermatologists tell us they want clearer baselines and more consistent ways to measure change.
Not more dashboards. Not more manual steps.

AI helps create structure where there used to be variation.
That structure makes outcomes easier to understand and easier to trust.

S.T.R.A.N.D. is an incredible community of dermatologists, stylists, braiders, trichologists, and other professionals all working together to address hair loss through science-backed education. Their dedication is raising the standard of care for clients everywhere, and I am thrilled to share how AI can support and strengthen this mission!

June kicked off a month of conferences surrounding hair and dermatology.
NAAF (National Alopecia Areata Foundation) is always one of my favorite events and 2025’s conference was no exception! It's such a powerful gathering of patients, advocates, and experts and serves as an important reminder of why the work we’re doing at SOCAi Labs matters so much.

Alopecia Areata affects over 6 million people in the U.S., yet it remains widely misunderstood. As someone who’s lived this journey personally and scientifically, I know how vital accurate, compassionate care is. At SOCAi Labs, we're using AI to take the guesswork out of diagnosis and track response to treatment in real time. It's time we stop dismissing autoimmune hair loss as “just hair"!
