Here we go down memory lane again!
If you grew up in the South, you're no stranger to the dreaded mosquito.
Seems like every summer evening, the mosquitoes show up like they had been personal invite.
Back in the day, once the itching started, every family had a “fix.”
-Some people made a baking soda paste.
-Some dabbed on vinegar or witch hazel.
-Some used clear nail polish, toothpaste, or a cold spoon.
-Some rubbed an ice cube over it.
-And some of us were told, “Quit scratching before you make it worse!”
Whether it was wise, weird, or just what your family always did, I want to hear it.
What did your mama, grandma, aunt, neighbor, or family friend use for mosquito bites?
Did it actually help, or did you just believe it because they said it with confidence?
What old-time remedy do you remember for mosquito bites?
This is for memories, conversation, and sharing traditions only. It is not medical advice. Severe swelling, trouble breathing, fever, signs of infection, or worsening symptoms should be discussed with a medical provider.

There is a kind of wisdom that does not come from a textbook.
It comes from front porches.
Kitchen tables.
Long car rides.
Grandmothers stirring pots.
Neighbors showing up.
Mamas saying, “Come sit down a minute.”
Not all old advice was perfect, but some of it carried a lot of love.
Today, we are thinking about the simple wisdom that shaped us.
What is one piece of advice you still remember? Who can you pass it on to?

July in Florida does not play around.
Between the heat, humidity, beach days, yard work, ball fields, errands, and long afternoons outside, summer can wear you down faster than you realize.
This month, we’re talking about simple summer wellness, starting with hydration.
A few easy ways to stay ahead of the heat:
-Start drinking water early in the day.
-Keep a drink with you when you leave the house.
-Add electrolytes when you are sweating a lot.
-Take shade breaks when you can.
-Wear light, breathable clothing.
-Check on kids, older adults, and anyone working outside.
Hydration is not just for when you feel thirsty. Make it part of your summer plan. 🔥😎 💰💲 Be on the lookout for some Summer IV drip deals!

Have you had any water yet, today? 💦💧💦

Ahh, the good ol' days... I am loving with y'all!
This week’s topic: sunburn.
Before every store had shelves full of after-sun gels and sprays, it seemed like every family had their own “this will cool it down” remedy for a dreaded sunburn.
Some people used aloe straight from the plant.
Some remember vinegar or mustard.
Some used cool baths, oatmeal, tea bags, Noxzema, or whatever mama or grandma said would take the sting out.
Whether it worked, smelled awful, or just became part of your childhood summer memories, I want to hear it.
What old-time remedy do you remember for sunburn?
Did your family have a go-to trick after a long day outside?
This is for memories, conversation, and sharing traditions only. It is not medical advice. Severe sunburn, blistering, fever, chills, dehydration, or worsening symptoms should be discussed with a medical provider.

Try this over the weekend:
Make a “use what you have” meal.
Before you run to the store or grab takeout, look in the fridge, freezer, or pantry and see what can become a simple meal.
Leftover chicken can become soup.
Eggs can become breakfast for dinner.
Vegetables can go into an omelet.
Rice can become a quick bowl.
A little protein, a little color, and something simple can still count.
Have fun with it! We'd love to see what you come up with.

Sometimes, the path to healing begins with honesty.
Not the kind we tell everyone else.
The kind we finally tell ourselves.
“I am tired.”
“I need help.”
“I have been putting this off.”
“This symptom is not going away.”
“I cannot keep ignoring how I feel.”
We are often very good at pushing through, but pushing through is not always the same as being well.
Today, take a quiet moment and ask yourself:
What do I need to be honest with myself about?
Your health is worth that kind of attention.

Men, let’s talk about sleep.
Not just “I got a few hours and I’m fine” sleep. Real rest.
Poor sleep can affect your energy, mood, focus, blood pressure, weight, blood sugar, hormones, and even how well your body handles stress.
A lot of men push through exhaustion and call it normal.
But being tired all the time is not something you have to ignore.
If you are snoring heavily, waking up tired, needing caffeine just to function, struggling to fall asleep, or waking up throughout the night, it may be worth a conversation.
Taking your health seriously includes taking your rest seriously.
Hope & Faith Wellness is here to help you take the next step.

This week’s topic: leg cramps.
Almost every family had a “this always works” remedy for those awful leg cramps that hit out of nowhere, especially at night.
Some people swore by mustard.
Some reached for pickle juice.
Some said to eat a banana.
Some rubbed the leg, stretched the foot, walked it off, or kept a bar of soap under the sheets.
Why is it plausible? Some remedies may help because of salt, potassium, stretching, or even the way strong flavors can trigger a nerve response.
Whether it was something your grandma taught you, something your mama kept in the cabinet, or something you still do today, I want to hear it.
What old-time remedy do you remember for leg cramps?
Did it actually help, or is it just one of those family traditions that stuck?
This is for memories, conversation, and sharing traditions only. It is not medical advice. Frequent, severe, one-sided, or ongoing leg cramps, swelling, redness, warmth, shortness of breath, or pain that does not go away should be discussed with a medical provider.
