A Giving Christmas

It is that time of year again! We are asking everyone in our community to consider donating to help kids have a Christmas that may not have had one otherwise. Your generosity for the past years has been overwhelming. We appreciate our community! Our hope is to raise as much if not more than the previous year. What better way can we begin the holiday season than with a donation to a worthy cause. Our goal is to reach $4000 this holiday season. We will be accepting donations through GiveSendGo and sharing the link thru our page.

Tom and I were married young and started with little money or belongings. We had our first child soon after we were married and struggled financially at times but we always did the best with what we had and worked hard to have better. We both feel very fortunate to be where we are now and know that situations can change quickly that can affect our way of living. This is the reason I started A Giving Christmas exactly 10 years ago this Christmas season. I hope that if my family ever needed help, a program like this one would be in place.

A Giving Christmas is a nonprofit and as of last year we are officially a 501c3 so any donations that you give can be used as a tax write off. Our name is officially Giving Incorporated so we can incorporate some new things into our giving. Look for updates in early 2023.

The kindness of our community that supports our program is awe-inspiring and at times surprising. Some of our biggest supporters are people who do not have much themselves. At times, we wonder why someone who has little themselves would give away what little extra they have. They have shared they are content with what they have and do not need material things to make them happy. Their happiness comes from giving, having good health, food to eat, friends, family and love.

I had a doctor appointment with my oncologist today who did my hysterectomy. Unfortunately I will be off an additional 4-6 week from my original 6 weeks of post-op. My incisions have pulled apart a bit inside they are healing but not as quickly as they should. I will be trying to contact everone individualy but if you read this please text me so I know you have read this. I have been on complete bedrest all this week in hopes that I would be able to go to Jasmarie's graduation ceremony. I want to thank all of our friends and family once again for your help. Tom and I were so thankful for everything. We will be going to Florida for our family trip this week. It will be the first time in 5 years that we all have been able to go as a family. I will have wheel chair transportation in the airport and we have rented a wheelchair in Florida. I did get permission to go from my doctor but he gave me very specific orders of things I can't do. One of them is no getting above my knees in any water. This has been very difficult for me. I am not good at laying or sitting around for very long. Tom has put the hammer down and is making sure I am not doing anything I am not supposed to do. Thank you to all my clients for being patient while I recover. I will be posting on my facebook to keep you all updated.

Going to the American Beauty Show in Chicago has always been on my bucket list of things to do in my career.
