Before and after…

…1 year later!

Literally one whole year later after getting her hair colored and using my hair care tips and routines with my product line this is the outcome.

Still glossy, still healthy, and even longer! Also, checkout the vibrance and seamless grow out of her initial color service. My product line is sulfate free which is perfect for colored and/or curly hair.

She uses my hydrating duo with a special formulated oil treatment that I referred to her.

Hair Goal: Thermal Style, Micro Trim

Oh and don’t ever forget to cold water rinse after your prep services ☺️

Before and after

Hair goal: Partial Sew In with a side part

Hair distributor: Nadula hair. Three bundles that were 16”,18”,20”

Her hair is the same length and density as the bundles that we installed so I made sure that her foundational cornrows laid as flat as possible.

NO BEE HIVE. I simply spread her braids from her side part and laid them straight back. Looping the ends of each cornrow into the next parallel cornrow helps keep the bulk to a minimum.

…I have a secret technique to keep the braids from sliding between her maintenance appointments…

Stay tuned

When’s the last time you had a fresh cut???

Hair goal: Deep Conditioning Treatment, Thermal Style, Micro Trim

We started her service with a scalp care treatment using my Squeaky Clean Trio from Tate’s Hair Care

The scalp care treatment is perfect for extreme buildup caused from Psoriasis, Eczema, and Dermatitis.

Literally just allow each lather to process for 8mins and follow up with a deep conditioning treatment and cold water rinse for the ultimate smoothing and shine.

So what is the difference between between a Micro Trim and I regular Trim🧐🤔…

Stay tuned for my Micro Trim tutorial

I’ve been tapping into my barbering skills lately.

Hair goal: Color and line up w/heart design

Color formula: Schwarzkopf BlondeMe with 30vol. Wella Blondor Permanent Liquid Toner /16 with Wella Pastel Developer 1:2 mixed with a splash of Brass Kicker

Usually my lineup service comes with a full fledge taper cut because I just can’t ever seem to be okay with doing just a line up 🙈

I used the clippers as an initial guide but always perfect the look with scissor over comb method as well as scissor freehand on Afro hair textures.

When a client books a service as such I’ll usually begin with hair color pre cut so that the scalp doesn’t become irritated when applying the bleach.

I prepped her scalp with KeraCare barrier protect which is usually used pre relaxer app. Doing this keeps her scalp from feeling cooked while processing during her bleach and tone service.

While the color lifted I applied foil underneath and a plastic processing cap for an even lift.

Next I applied my Blondor toner and processed for 15 mins proceeded by her taper line up.

Hair goal: knotless boho box braids

We used Rastafri feed’m silky pre-stretched for her braids along with His and Hers deep wavy for her leave-out.

Black Panther edge control kept her roots in check and Raw African Shea Butter keeps her length and ends soft and moisturized which prevents breakage and split ends and promotes hair length.

She wanted a full look so we used 1 1/2 bundles of His and Hers bulk hair.

I finished this look by adding fuchsia perm rods to the braid hair only and dipping them in hot water with Indian Growth grease to create a silky, curly, blend.

🔑Don’t dip the human hair in hot water!!!! Doing so will change the texture and curl pattern of the hair🔑

Hair goal: root retouch, haircut, blowdry

Formula: 6/7 30g 3/0 20g 1:1 20vol Wella Koleston Perfect

I decided to go with this formulation for depth in tone yet a rich coffee bean brown.

Her undertone has a vibrant glow in the sun and I wanted to keep that with the 6/7 yet mute that vibrancy while indoors and give off a sort of ombré finish with the 3/0.

Omg her hair was so thick and was all one length so I had to create lots of texture with wet and dry point cutting, slide cutting techniques, disconnected under cutting techniques, and I finished with my handy dandy texturizing shears.

I literally felt like Edward Scissorhands during this session and loved every minute💖

For her blowout I used Ceramic + Ion Large Thermal Brush 2 1/8” with Kenra Daily Provision, Guytang Mydentity My Quick Blow Thermal Spray, and Redken Velvet Gelatine 07.

She came with her own good vibes and great energy thus the light flares ☀️

SWIPE 👈🏽 for perfect texture product combo👈🏽

So my good sister-friend had been complaining about her hair never being able to hold a curl...

I mean we all hate it when we get our hair all done up and the curls fall immediately killing all of our wavy girl hopes and dreams🙈

So I dug deep into my arsenal of product knowledge class memories and concocted the perfect texture combo for her super silky hair.

🔑 Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray all throughout her tresses and Bumble and Bumble Thickening Spray sectionally applied to the root only🔑

These products are very lightweight and create the perfect texture environment for long lasting curls/waves.

Messaged me several hours later to let me know that her curls were still popping and thanked me for helping her attain her hair goals🎯

She told me that I made her feel like home 🙈☺️💗

Literally, that’s the best compliment you can ever give a braider because one things for sure and two things for certain is that Africans don’t play about their braid services okay💞

For all of the raw butters, oils, and teas imported from Africa shop with

We used the raw African Shea butter on her tresses and the raw African caster oil on her scalp.

So far her and her babies hair has noticeable growth and is more manageable after using these products as well as hair care at the back bar.

On their first session with me, I straightened their 4a-4d curl types and gave them each a micro trim which eliminates a majority of their split ends all throughout their heads.

The micro trim is so necessary for clients with breakage and flyaways and all of those different lengths.

Traditionally only cutting length off of their ends would have been a disservice and their strands would’ve continued to split higher up the hair shaft.

Between prep, trimming, natural vegan hair products and not being so heavy handed when braiding, THIS IS A PROTECTIVE HAIRSTYLE.

Hair goal: Middle part sew in

🔑First major key to sectioning leave out is if the tail to your comb is exposed under your desired section, then the tracks will be exposed.

🔑 Use your rat tail comb as a guide for the density of your leave out section.

🔑Every client is different and requires different sectioning which should be determined during your service consultation prior to braiding the foundation.

Hair goal: Knotless Box Braids

Lately I’ve been braiding with Black Panther pomade for sleek roots, Raw African Shea Butter creme hair dress from on the scalp and hair length, and rastafri prestretched braid hair.

This combo has been keeping my fingers from feeling tender after my braid sessions and I absolutely love it💜

I always dip my clients braids in hot water to seal the ends of their braids which keeps them from unraveling.

🔑I only dip below the length of their natural hair to prevent their braids from getting fuzzy.

I’ll generally finish every braid session with a steam treatment. My client has been experiencing dry scalp so I oiled her scalp with Raw African Castor Oil from which is anti microbial before steaming her scalp with hot towels.

🔑The steam treatment also tames any braid hair fly aways so you can ditch using your shears after each braid.
