Behind the chair we hear a lot! One of the common questions I get is why is my hair so dull? There are many reasons and a few fixes. In the salon, professional glossing and or conditioning treatments can add shine and life to the hair. If you have product buildup, a clarifying treatment might be what you need. At home, deep conditioning and clarifying are good things to maintain your hair in between appointments, and a heat protectant is a MUST if you are blowdrying, curling or using a flat iron on your hair! For more info tailored to your specific needs join us on 6/27 for our Blow Out Class.

I wish I had taken a before picture of this lovely guest….. she was a lot lighter. I see a lot of grey blending on lighter hair, that is ideal, but you can still blend your sparkle pieces without being too light for your skin tone. The possibilities are endless! 🎨✂️

My response to a guest that says, “I wish my blowout would last for days!” Is ALWAYS… “Do you sleep on a silk pillowcase?” Cotton grabs your hair and pulls out moisture. If you move a lot in your sleep it can rough up your cuticle and contribute to split ends, and if you are a side sleeper, cotton will also pull on your skin and give you deeper sheet marks! Your hair and skin will slip on silk. Your hair and your skin will thank you! .

Want to know what my two secret weapons are for blowdrying frizzy hair? Oi all in one milk and oi oil. They contain Roucou oil. The oil from this seed is rich in beta-carotene, and ellagic acid . Together with other trace elements , they decrease the cellular damage caused by UV rays , prevent aging, and help neutralize free radicals. Can I bathe in it, you ask? There is an oi body wash too!

So sad to hear PUMP is closing. It is a beautiful restaurant. I am a Bravo fan, and I have met Lisa and Ken a couple of times at their various restaurants and they have always been gracious and charming. They are amazing restauranteurs, I hope they reopen somewhere else in LA. Maybe they should come to Pasadena?

Feeling like a slave to your roots? This guest was a tint and hi light and wanted to try to embrace her grey. Her work is mostly out doors and she has a busy life style. While she loves having her hair look good, she doesn’t have time for the upkeep required to cover all her grey hair. Our journey began with high lights and low lights to break up the base color. We then transitioned to a hi light and toner. All the while keeping her hair healthy and looking good. NOT like she was going grey cold turkey. This is what a Master Colorist can do for you. We work WITH you and your lifestyle. We ask the questions, we think outside the box, we help you achieve what is possible for your and your hair goals. Wondering if grey blending is right for you? Let’s talk about it!

Blow drying your own hair can be a lot of work. Most people don’t spend the time to do it right, and end up frustrated. A micro fiber towel can save time and the health of your hair. If your hair looks good , you feel good!

Are your hair tools clean? This is important ! Wash your satin scrunchies in a laundry bag, and brushes and combs in warm soapy water. You can even use shampoo to clean your brushes and combs. Dead skin, dust, and oils are transferred from your hair to your tools. Don’t brush your clean hair with a dirty brush!
