As the first week "officially back" from maternity leave comes to a close, I have a (very rare) quick moment to reflect... I have realized a few key things;
What an absolute blessing it is that I'm a self-employed business owner who has the flexibility & time to spend with my baby.
How challenging it is to balance work & motherhood when you're deep in the throes of it (and let's be real, you're never really *not* in the throes of it, you just get much better at managing it)
& Lastly- there is truly never enough time in the day.
I went into this experience genuinely thinking that as soon as my (self declared) 12 weeks was up, I'd wake up on April 1st refreshed and ready to get back into it... all mothers who have come before me can all collectively laugh at my naivety. 🫠
It makes me realize how strong all these working moms out there are really are. I thought I knew- I had no idea. Hats off to you, truly!
That all being said, I worked on my first client (photos to follow!) since having the baby, and it felt like riding a bike. I missed doing makeup. I loveee doing makeup. It felt really, really great. I'm BACK BABYY!
I'm still slowly but surely making my way through all the inquiries & emails that came in over the last few months, at a bit more of a snails speed than I anticipated (in between bottles & nap times), so thank you in advance for your patience while I navigate this new phase of working mom life. If we've chatted about contracts or an event, just know I'm working on it, and I will be in touch ASAP.
Looking forward to this next season being the best one yet 🫶

I saw a trend going around that I thought was really great, involving New Year's resolutions for 2024. Rather than just making a proclamation or promises for the year to come, you make a list of your In's & Out's for the year. I love that this forces you to dig a little deeper and reflect as opposed to making generic "rules" for yourself that are somewhat hard to hold yourself accountable for. They can be goals, habits, feelings- anything! All the things that make us human.
My In's & Out's for 2024 are:
