Different forms of hair removal 💁🏽‍♀️

✨Shaving uses a razor that cuts the hair on the surface of the skin, which is why it starts growing back the next day or 2 .

✨ Threading uses thread that is rolled over the hair pulling the hair out of the follicle. The difference between threading and tweezing is threading can remove rows of hair at a time.

✨Waxing pulls the hair out of the follicle. Each time you wax we are damaging the follicle resulting in finer and sparse regrowth

✨Electrolysis a small needle which is often finer than the hair is inserted into the opening of the hair follicle. A small electrical current destroys the hair growth cells.

✨Chemical Depilatory such as Nair or Veet use active ingredients to chemically break down the hair, just like shaving the hair is only removed from the surface of the skin

✨Laser hair removal uses a concentrated beam of light to remove hair. The laser emits a light that is absorbed by the pigment in the hair. The light energy is converted to heat, which damages the hair follicle.

Are you new to waxing or wondering what to do before your wax appointment? This should help 🙂

🪞Make sure your hair is as long as a grain of rice. This should be 2-3 weeks of hair growth after you have shaved. When the hair is too short it’s harder for the wax to adhere resulting in hair being left behind.

🪞Take a shower before your appointment. Do not apply lotions or oils on the areas being waxed. If you’re getting your underarms waxed do not apply deodorant.

🪞Exfoliate the Night before your wax to remove dead skin cells. This will help with the removal of the hair during your wax.

🪞I your hair is longer than a grain of rice that is fine do not trim on your on let your wax specialist take care of it.

🪞Take a pain reliever 30 minutes before your wax appointment. This will help with pain and reduce inflammation. Be sure not to take any pain medication that causes thinning of the blood.

🪞Wear cotton underwear and loose bottoms to your appointment. Avoid wearing tight bottoms to reduce any friction in the area.
