Women’s hair loss is not always “just aging”—and it should never be dismissed.
Hormonal changes, thyroid conditions, nutritional deficiencies, inflammation, stress, medications, genetics, and certain styling practices can all contribute to thinning and shedding.
The difficult truth is that buying another product without understanding the cause may waste valuable time—especially when scarring hair loss is involved.
A thorough trichology consultation allows us to examine the scalp closely, discuss your health history, identify concerning patterns, and determine whether additional medical testing or referrals may be appropriate.
Your hair loss deserves more than guesswork. It deserves answers, a thoughtful plan, and compassionate support.

Hair loss is not always simple. It requires a conversation.
When a woman sits in my chair with thinning or breakage, looking at her scalp is important—but it isn’t the entire assessment.
I want to know:
What do her recent blood test results show?
Has she experienced a major life change, illness, surgery, significant stress, or rapid weight change?
What does her health history tell us?
Are there inflammatory, autoimmune, hormonal, nutritional, medication-related, genetic, or other factors that warrant consideration?
These questions matter because different forms of hair loss can have very different contributing factors.
During Alopecia Awareness Month, one of my goals is to encourage women to stop assuming every change is “just breakage.”
Sometimes we need to ask better questions.
Hair loss is not always simple. It requires a conversation.
💙 Noticing changes in your hair or scalp? Schedule a professional hair and scalp assessment.
September is Alopecia Awareness Month. 💙
One of the most important things I want women to understand is this:
Alopecia doesn’t always begin with a bald spot.
Sometimes the first signs are subtle—a little more breakage at the crown, a widening part, thinning around the edges, increased shedding, or changes in how your scalp looks or feels.
Those changes deserve attention.
Throughout September, I’ll be talking about the different types of alopecia, signs you shouldn’t ignore, and the options available when hair loss occurs.
I’m Linda Boyce, Certified Trichologist and Non-Surgical Hair Replacement Specialist, and my goal is to help you move from guessing about your hair loss to understanding what may be happening.
If you’re noticing changes in your hair or scalp, don’t wait until the hair loss becomes more advanced. Schedule an assessment.

MEET THE CARE TEAM | The Registered Dietitian 🥗
Before automatically reaching for another hair vitamin, I want to know:
What is actually happening nutritionally?
Protein intake. Rapid weight loss. Restrictive eating. Nutrient status. Changes in appetite. GLP-1 medications. Dietary patterns.
All of these can become relevant pieces of the hair-loss conversation.
And when the nutritional picture needs deeper evaluation, that’s where a Registered Dietitian may come in.
My role as a trichologist is to recognize the clues and know when another professional’s expertise is appropriate.
Because supporting hair health isn’t about throwing supplements at the problem.
It’s about asking better questions.
💙 The Trichology Care Team
Hair loss isn’t always just about hair.
MEET THE TRICHOLOGY CARE TEAM | The Internist 🩺
What does an Internist have to do with hair loss?
Sometimes, quite a bit.
When someone comes to me with hair loss, I’m not only interested in what I see on the scalp. I’m also asking questions about what may be happening throughout the body.
Fatigue. Unexplained weight changes. Nutritional concerns. Chronic inflammation. Medication changes. Anemia or abnormal bloodwork. Ongoing medical conditions.
These are clues that may tell me we need to look beyond the scalp.
An Internist/Internal Medicine Physician is trained to evaluate the broader health picture and may help investigate medical concerns that could be relevant to what we’re seeing with the hair.
My role as a trichologist is not to diagnose those medical conditions. It is to recognize patterns, ask better questions, and know when an appropriate medical referral may be warranted.
That’s why the Internist has a place on my Trichology Care Team.
Because hair loss isn’t always just about hair.

Meet another member of the Trichology Care Team: The Endocrinologist.
Hair loss can sometimes occur alongside changes involving thyroid function, hormones, insulin resistance, menopause, PCOS, or other endocrine concerns.
As a trichologist, my job is not to diagnose those medical conditions. My job is to recognize when the information I’m seeing and hearing tells me that we may need to ask more questions and refer appropriately.
That’s where an endocrinologist may become an important part of the conversation.
This is why I created the Trichology Care Team—because sometimes hair loss requires us to look beyond the scalp.
Hair loss isn’t always just about hair.
💙 Restore Hair Now Trichology & Hair Replacement Center
Hair loss isn’t always just about hair.
Sometimes what we see on the scalp may be one piece of a much bigger health picture. That’s why I created the Trichology Care Team.
My role as a trichologist isn’t to diagnose outside my scope. It’s to look deeper, ask better questions, recognize patterns, and know when the right referral may be needed.
Depending on what we uncover during a consultation, that may mean collaborating with professionals such as a dermatologist, endocrinologist, primary-care physician/internist, registered dietitian, or other appropriate providers.
Because if your hair isn’t growing back, the question shouldn’t always be:
“What can we put on the scalp?”
Sometimes the better question is:
“What else could be going on?”
At Restore Hair Now, we’re looking beyond the hair.

Hidden toxins matter”
“You don’t have to feel toxic for toxins to affect you…”

“This report also shows exposure to elements like:
• Mercury
• Aluminum
• Other environmental metals
Even small amounts can interfere with:
• Nutrient absorption
• Hormone balance
• Hair growth cycles”
Toxins don’t always show symptoms right away.
But they quietly interfere with how your body functions.
And your hair is often where we see it first. create an image for this using Rhn brand colours and logo
I use AI in my trichology practice—but I don’t give AI control of my professional judgment.
There are three things I will NOT let AI do:
❌ Diagnose my client
❌ Invent information
❌ Make professional decisions for me
AI can help us organize information, communicate more efficiently, create client education, and save valuable time.
But AI should assist your expertise—not replace it.
That’s why I included Linda’s AI Guardrails™ inside The Trichologist’s AI Prompt Vault™.
