From level 6 coverage to a beautiful, softer blonde ✨

My client is about 90% gray, which means her natural roots come in very light — while the previously colored lengths were sitting around a level 6.

For this first session, I did heavy lightening to bring the darker lengths closer to the brightness of her natural gray and create a much softer transition as her roots grow in.

Her hair is naturally very curly and was quite dry, so protecting the integrity of the hair was just as important as creating the color.

Now we watch the grow-out. 🤍

We haven’t decided yet what her long-term maintenance will look like. She may choose a lighter permanent color for some coverage, or we may stay with a softer demi-permanent approach.

Gray blending isn’t always about deciding the entire plan on day one. Sometimes we create the foundation first, let the natural gray grow, and then adjust the maintenance based on how the hair actually behaves.

I’m excited to see how this blonde evolves over the next few months.
