11 years in the beauty industry… and what a journey it’s been ✨

I started out in an MLM, and at the time, it gave me a foundation, confidence, and a way to step into the world of makeup artistry. But as I grew, I realized it wasn’t for everyone, and it wasn’t where I was meant to stay.

If I’m being honest, I wish I had poured more time into building my own business from the very beginning; into my name, my brand and my vision. But growth doesn’t always happen the way we expect it to… and every step taught me something valuable.

Over the years, I’ve learned that success isn’t about following someone else’s path. It’s about creating your own.

Here’s what truly changed the game for me:
• Building a brand, not just a portfolio
• Showing up consistently (not perfectly)
• Prioritizing client experience
• Investing in myself early
• Creating multiple streams of income
• Letting people connect with me, not just my work

If you’re on your own journey keep going. Learn, evolve, and don’t be afraid to change what doesn’t feel edifying. The business you’re dreaming of is built in the moments you choose to keep showing up. 🤍

Confession time: I don’t always take behind-the-scenes photos… mostly because this is NOT my forte. 😂

I might forget the process pics, but one thing I never forget? How much I absolutely LOVE being a makeup artist. There’s just something about turning brushes, palettes, and a little bit of chaos into pure confidence.

Ending the year as myself and trying to inspire others to do the same.
We didn’t all thrive, glow up, or figure everything out, but we showed up in the ways we could. And honestly…that counts.

This week has been remarkably productive, and I've had the pleasure of working with wonderful women in my chair. A key takeaway is that skin preparation is essential. Rather than relying heavily on primer, I concentrate on matching the ideal moisturizer to each skin type and incorporate a luminizer to refine minor imperfections. This approach facilitates a natural, breathable makeup application with minimal foundation. Women 40 and over are abundantly blessed! We are embracing ourselves in ways that are so liberating, and it shows physically and emotionally. I’d love to know if you’re loving this season of life.
