I love me some Gua sha
The Aftermath of a Gua Sha Session
While it might look a little scary, this is the results of one of the oldest practices in massage therapy: the Traditional Chinese Art of Gua Sha.
Gua Sha uses a small smooth tool to scrape over areas of chronic pain causing micro-damage to the area which then supplies the area with vast amounts of nutrients through an ideology of “Creating damage to heal damage”
The reddish bruising (called petechiae) quickly fades over the course of a couple days and leaves behind healthier muscular and skin tissue alleviating chronic pain or muscle tightness that other massage practices may not fully relieve.
