Kara’s “Spot”

To be honest I was always against them. I’d say “please don’t ever set one up for me, if one day that’s me”. ….. .It’s me.

Then in March 2023 my daughter had a “roadside spot”. Kara’s spot.

I wasn’t pleased at first and worried about the safety of kids stopping due to how dangerous that corner had proven to be. It can’t happen again.

But, I knew I had to let people express their feelings how they needed to. I let it be.

Then, I had to pass it for the first time (bandaid ripped), second, and now just about daily. Everytime I can’t help but stare, feel my heart sink, panic attack, and catch my breath. A visual reminder.

Just recently I passed and didn’t look, caught up in my thoughts. Instantly feeling bad I didn’t recognize it with a glance. Did she notice that?

Now I see it for a spot to remind those of Kara, to remind those to drive safely, to remind those to love, to find beauty in everyday, and know she is missed terribly. Her favorite color is blue.

As many know I love to craft so making these arrangements have been therapeutic and give me a moment to dote on her still. She loved her stocking at Christmas the most.

Shopping for florals in Hobby Lobby (bandaid ripped) I tell the lady next to me what I’m shopping for we stop and she prays with me.

So Tonight I make arrangements. (Bandaid ripped) I cry.

And tomorrow I rip another bandaid off. And another…

You’re not alone

When I first started this page, it was meant to be about aging naturally. Embracing each stage of life as it comes.

But that same night, I lost my daughter. Everything changed.

Now, two years and seven months later, I feel ready to come back this time with more depth, more honesty, and a heart that’s been through a lot of reflection.

I’ve worried about what people will think. No longer because if sharing my journey helps even one person or helps me continue to heal then it’s worth it.

Monday March 13, 2023|
1st day of my daily blog.
1st day of Spring Break.
1st day of self accountability 
Plans:
-Cleaning my car
-take the EIGHT pounds of candy (don’t judge) I accidentally Amazoned home instead of to my youngest school
-Grab some sporting goods at Academy
-Oil changed
-Revisit list
Sounds like a not so fun first day for the kids but that’s okay. I let them sleep in and we will have fun this evening. Mommas got an idea🔥
But first my delicious hot Honey elixir water and coffee ☕️
