Hi everyone, and Happy Friday!

I wanted to do a little get to know me post!
‼️Long post warning though‼️

Next month, I’ll be stepping into my 30s, and I’m a proud Bonus Mama to two amazing kiddos. I’m also married to my best friend, and I absolutely love our little family—how goofy they are and how they bring out the goofiness in me, too!

I’ve always loved doing hair in some way, especially hair coloring (whether it was my own or a friend’s) and attempting to give myself scene hair back in the day.

Pursuing cosmetology didn’t seem financially possible when I lived in Colorado—there were some incredible big-name schools, but they came with big-name pricing. I couldn’t see how I’d make it work or how I’d build a career from it.

Flash forward to 2021—I was about to get my hair done the right way (instead of box-dyeing it black again 🙃). I fully knew it would be a pain to change later—spoiler: I did, and now I’m purple! 🤣

That day, I watched my now mother-in-law just vibing in her own salon space. She was smiling, genuinely happy, and having heartfelt conversations—without anyone telling her, “Keep it to five minutes” or “You talk too much”. She was fully expressing herself—her vibrant hair, her personal style, her choice of music and art—all while managing her own schedule and having time for family and friends.

I went home and cried because I wanted that. I knew it wouldn’t be easy, but I wanted that freedom—to love what I was doing again. I didn’t want to be stuck in an office, forcing a smile while chasing a version of success that never felt like me.

Pursuing this career has been hard—on a whole different level—but it’s been so worth it. The growth, the challenge, the passion I get to pour into my work… I think middle school me researching how to do all this would be pretty proud. 💛

Huge shoutout to my incredible husband for pushing me and supporting this dream, to our parents for being my biggest cheerleaders, and to our kiddos—I’m proud to show them that chasing your dreams and putting in the hard work is worth it. 💛
