Baby cousin came in for some purple for her big 6th birthday and let me tell you… she understood the assignment.

(Not so) fun fact: I was in the room when her daddy was born… and now his daughter is in my chair getting streaks. So yeah, I’m officially 1,000,000 years old. 😭

There are hair appointments… and then there are these appointments. 💛

A new client reached out saying she’s been searching for someone—anyone—who could give her the perm she’s been wearing her whole life. Her mom was a hairdresser and always did it for her… and she passed away last year. Ever since, my new sweet client has been trying to find her way back to those curls.

And being a hairdresser… and a hairdresser’s kid… I felt absolutely no pressure at all 🙃 (said with all the sarcasm in my body).

Then she mentioned she used the tiny blue and yellow rods and I almost had a full-blown panic attack 😂

But we took our time. Three hours, a whole lot of rods, and a whole lot of heart later… her curls came back.

Moments like this remind me that what we do is so much bigger than hair. It’s memory. It’s comfort. It’s connection.

So many of you have truly watched me grow up—from being a little girl running around the salon to being behind the chair myself. Because of that, I know a lot of you feel like extended family… and you’ve known and loved my family right alongside me.

As many of you have already heard, my Uncle Van unexpectedly passed away a few weeks ago. We’ll be holding services this week to celebrate his life.

I’m sharing the details below from his daughter for both the local service and the service in Georgia—please feel welcome to join us if you’d like.

I also want to say a heartfelt thank you to all of my clients who have been so understanding lately. Things have been a little up in the air, and I’m so grateful for your patience while appointments have been shuffled and rescheduled so our family could have this time together.

It means more to me than I can put into words 🤍 I hope to see you all there in your boots, camo, loud shirts, and unbelievable tales.
