GLYCATION - the bitter effect of sugar

I often tell you that the treatment itself or the best cream will not cause miracles, but what is important is the way of eating, lifestyle, etc.

A few words about one of the processes affecting the aging of our skin, which is related to our habits:

➡️ PROTEIN GLYCATION
This process leads to the damage of collagen and elastin in the skin, as a result => accelerates the aging process.

The glycation process is a consequence of excess sugars consumed
🍭 Sugar particles enter the body and attach to fat and protein cells. Proteins that are particularly exposed to this process are: collagen and elastin. When sugar molecules attach to collagen and elastin fibers, they cause them to become stiffer, discolored and distorted. As a result of glycation, additional cross-links are formed between the collagen chains, which weaken it, making it less flexible. Elastin changes its internal structure, which causes the skin to sag and the oval of the face to fall.
As a result of this process, the proteins turn brownish-yellow and the skin takes on a more yellowish tint ( sugar face).

This process also affects the walls of blood vessels. They become stiff, which worsens the blood supply to the skin and increases the tendency to develop vascular changes.

🚭 This process is stimulated by smoking, because to***co smoke contains very large amounts of glycotoxins that stimulate protein glycation.

How to protect the skin from glycation?
× change of diet, i.e. minimize the consumption of simple sugars and enrich the diet with vegetables and fiber 🍎🥕
× it is worth including antioxidants in your diet and start supplementing with them.

Could blue light be the cause of your hyperpigmentation? More precisely, artificial blue light?
