With her additional training, Makenna can now incorporate specialized TMJ massage techniques designed to address the muscles and soft tissues surrounding the jaw and help relieve muscular tension and discomfort.

Last but definitely not least in my Birthday Week of Gratitude is Sebastian, better known around here as Bash. 💙

Bash is our newest addition to Medical Massage Pensacola, officially joining us in July 2026, but his story here started before he was even licensed.

Right after graduating massage school in May, Bash began an unofficial internship with us. He volunteered his time learning the front desk, how we care for our clients, and everything that happens behind the scenes at MMP.

That told me A LOT about him.

Bash is a go-getter. He asks questions, pays attention, invests in himself, and genuinely wants to learn.

Toward the end of his internship, I finally got on his table for my first massage from him.

And I knew.

If he wanted a place on this team, he had one. 💙

Sometimes you receive work from a brand-new therapist and can already feel the natural talent and potential that's there. Bash has that. His attention to detail is incredible, his leg work is TOP NOTCH, and I can't wait to watch his skills continue to develop.

But even beyond his talent, he just fits here.

There's something about his energy that feels like he belongs at Medical Massage Pensacola. Somehow, he felt like part of the MMP family before his career had even officially begun.

Bash, I'm so grateful you chose to begin your career with us. I'm honored to have a small part in watching you grow into the therapist I already see you becoming.

Your career is just getting started, and I can't wait to see where you take it. 💙

And with that, my Birthday Week of Gratitude comes to an end. Seven therapists, each bringing something completely different and special to Medical Massage Pensacola.

Day 6 of my Birthday Week of Gratitude is for Makenna! 💙

Makenna joined our team in March 2026, and I knew from the very first treatment she gave me during her interview that there was some serious potential there.

One of my favorite things about bringing newer therapists onto our team is recognizing that natural ability early on. When I see that kind of potential in a young therapist, I get genuinely excited because we have the opportunity to help guide them, give them real experience, and create an environment where they can grow into an incredible massage therapist.

And I absolutely saw that in Makenna. ❤️

Makenna is kind, soft-spoken, and quiet, but never someone who goes unnoticed.

There is a calmness about her that carries over into her work, and her natural ability with myofascial techniques honestly impressed me from the beginning. She has an intuitive way of working with the body that can be difficult to teach, especially this early in a therapist's career.

That's when you know someone has something special.

I believe Makenna has the potential to go VERY far in this career, and that's exactly why I was so excited to bring her onto our team.

One of the most rewarding parts of where I am now in my own career is getting to pour some of what I've learned over the years into the next generation of therapists. I get to give them opportunities, help them build confidence, encourage them to keep learning, and hopefully make their path a little easier because they have people around them who genuinely want to see them succeed.

Makenna, I'm so happy you're here. 💙

Day 5 of my Birthday Week of Gratitude is for Michelle! 💙

Michelle officially joined our team in July 2025, but I had actually known her as a massage therapist since 2021, and more importantly, I had already been on her table. 😂 So I knew firsthand just how good she was.

Michelle is incredibly thorough and is one of those therapists who goes above and beyond to make sure her clients get the care and attention they need. She takes what she does seriously, and it shows.

By the time she reached out to me in July 2025 looking for a position, she had completed her Physical Therapist Assistant degree, and when I saw that message, there really wasn't much to think about.

I already knew I wanted to hire her. 😂💙

Since joining us, she has continued to impress me with her commitment to learning and growing. Along with Wendy, she took on the challenge of becoming certified in Manual Lymphatic Drainage, a modality that was very much needed in our clinic and a HUGE contribution to Medical Massage Pensacola.

But there's another side of Michelle I appreciate just as much.

She does things by the book. 😂

As a business owner, having someone who respects the standards you've put in place and genuinely has the clinic's back means A LOT.

She's someone I feel like I can trust.

I trust her to take care of her clients, continue learning, take pride in her work, and genuinely care about Medical Massage Pensacola and what we're building here.

Plus, she has a great personality and is genuinely enjoyable to work alongside. ❤️

Michelle, I'm so grateful you reached out that day in July because having you join this team was such an easy YES for me. Day 4 of my Birthday Week of Gratitude is for Curtis! 💙

Curtis and I actually go all the way back to 2018, when we first met working together. Somewhere along the way, we developed a friendship and started trading massage work with each other, which, if you're a massage therapist, you KNOW finding another therapist you trust to work on you is kind of a big deal. 😂

Fast forward several years to November 2024.

Curtis came to me looking for the place where he really felt like he belonged.

And I genuinely felt like Medical Massage Pensacola could be that home for him.

I am so grateful he decided to join us because the amount of knowledge and experience this man brings to our team is incredible.

Curtis is an extremely educated and knowledgeable massage therapist. He has spent years learning his craft, expanding his skills, and he was even an instructor at a massage school.

Dude was a TEACHER. 😂

So when I say we are lucky to have that kind of knowledge and expertise under our roof, I mean it.

But what I appreciate most about Curtis isn't just everything he knows.

It's who he is.

He is such a kind, soft-hearted soul. He's easy to talk to, approachable, caring, and he brings this gentle presence with him that makes people feel comfortable.

There is something really special about knowing someone professionally for years, watching their journey unfold, and then eventually getting to say, “Hey…maybe your place is here with us.”

Curtis, I'm so grateful that you trusted me and chose Medical Massage Pensacola as your home. I'm grateful for the knowledge and experience you bring to our team, for the way you care for your clients, and for the genuinely good human being that you are.

From working together in 2018…to trading massages…to now having you as part of the team I've built.

Day 3 of my Birthday Week of Gratitude is for Wendy. 💙

Wendy joined the Medical Massage Pensacola family in October 2024, and from the beginning, she has been one of those quiet, steady people you can simply count on.

She is kind, sweet, and definitely one of the more introverted souls on our team 😊, but the level of care she has for her clients speaks LOUDLY.

Wendy listens. She pays attention. She genuinely cares about what her clients need, and she consistently shows up ready to do the work to help them feel better.

But one of the things that makes me especially proud of Wendy is her willingness to grow.

At one point, I gave her a pretty big ask: I wanted her to become certified in Manual Lymphatic Drainage.

And she did it. 💙

She put in the work, completed the training, expanded her skill set, and brought something incredibly valuable back to our practice and our clients.

Watching someone on your team take on a challenge, invest in themselves, and accomplish something you knew they were capable of is such a proud moment as a business owner.

And Wendy, I am SO proud of you.

I’m proud of what you’ve accomplished, but I’m equally grateful for the things that don't come with a certificate, the consistency, the hard work, the reliability, and the genuine care you give the people who trust you with their bodies and their healing.

You may have a quieter presence, but your contribution to this team is anything but small. ❤️

Day 2 of my Birthday Week of Gratitude, and today I get to celebrate Jacqueline. 💙

Our story actually started in 2020 when Jacqueline first came to me as a client.

Then in 2021, while I was pregnant, the tables turned and I became her client and received what I still say was the BEST prenatal massage I’ve ever had. 😂🙌

Because we were consistently seeing each other as clients, we had a lot of time for conversations. We talked about life, massage, the industry…and I started sharing with her some of the dreams I had for Medical Massage Pensacola and what I hoped this business would eventually become.

And somewhere in those conversations, I just knew.

She belonged here.

I remember telling her how much I felt like she was supposed to be part of my team and part of what I was building.

And boy, was I RIGHT. ❤️

Jacqueline officially joined Medical Massage Pensacola in February 2024, and the light she has brought into our space is something you can genuinely feel.

She is one of those people with this beautiful, grounding, calm energy about her. She’s sweet, thoughtful, incredibly talented, and brings something to our team that is completely her own.

She has also helped us expand what we can offer our clients by bringing special modalities like Reiki and reflexology into our practice—and I absolutely love that she gets to share those gifts here.

It’s pretty amazing to think that this started with her lying on my massage table in 2020, then me lying on hers while pregnant in 2021…and all the while, neither of us really knew where those conversations would eventually lead.

But I had a feeling about her. ❤️

And four years after we first met, she became part of the team I had spent so much time dreaming about.

Jacqueline, I’m so grateful you said yes. I’m grateful for the peaceful presence you bring into our space, the way you care for our clients, the gifts you bring to your work, and simply for the sweet human that you are.

🎂 41 Trips Around the Sun & A Whole Lot to Be Grateful For ❤️

It’s my birthday today! 🥳 And birthdays always have a way of making me stop for a minute and think about just how much can change in a year.

This year, one of the things I’m feeling especially grateful for is my team at Medical Massage Pensacola.

There are seven incredible therapists who have chosen to be part of this business with me, and I don’t think I tell them nearly enough how much I appreciate each of them individually.

So, for my birthday week, I’m changing that. ❤️

For the next seven days, I’m celebrating one member of my team every day and sharing a little about why I’m so grateful they’re here.

And I couldn’t start with anyone other than Tami.

Tami and I go WAY back. 😂 We originally worked together at a doctor’s office from 2015–2018, and what started as being coworkers turned into a friendship that continued long after we stopped working together.

Then in November 2023, we became coworkers all over again, only this time, Tami came to work with me at Medical Massage Pensacola. 🥹

There’s something really special about looking around at the business you’ve worked so hard to build and seeing one of your best friends standing there with you.

Tami has been there through so many different chapters of my life, and now I get to have her as part of this chapter too. She is an incredible massage therapist, she genuinely cares about the people she works with, and she brings so much experience, heart, humor, and personality to our team.

But beyond all of that…she’s my friend. ❤️

And having one of my best friends choose to believe in what I’ve built and become part of it means more to me than she probably realizes.

Tami, I am so incredibly grateful for you, for your friendship, for all the years of memories, for everything you bring to Medical Massage Pensacola, and for choosing to take this crazy ride with me.

From coworkers…to friends…to coworkers again. 😂 Apparently, we just can’t get rid of each other.
