My name is Jen Benningfield ( Avery maiden name ). I'm 46 & a single mom of 4 (27, 22, 20 & 17). I was born & raised in Peoria, lived in Iowa for 8 years & have been a resident of Princeville, IL since '06. I've held many handfuls of jobs over the years, finding things to do while my kids were in school, but not until recently did I decide it's time to find a career for me. I came into the idea of being a microblade artist in Oct of '17. I researched the market here in Peoria & surrounding areas & wasn't finding much to go on. After contacting a few area salons & seeing the interest for it, I decided to dive in. I attended Occhi Institute in Oak Brook, IL in Feb of '18 & became certified. After completing 100 hours of online education & working with close family & friends who were sooo trusting of me it was time to step into the real world. I joined Charmed Salon & Spa in June of '18 & relocated to Moxie (which is now called Wild Honey) in July of 2019 & have been there ever since. I have been fortunate to continue to improve my education & get more certifications by attending a weekend class in Seattle, WA ( fall of '18 ), Advanced Permanent Makeup Academy in Naperville (spring & fall of '19) & Academy of Advanced Cosmetics in Atlanta, GA in Winter of '19 and 2 days in Chicago with the world renowned Angie Kwiatkowski & Mary Ritcherson for Nano & pixels. I most recently went to London, UK for a Permanent Makeup Conference in fall of '23. I work weekdays usually 4, sometimes 5 days a week & see roughly 3-4 people a day. I can create nano, microbladed, combo or powder brows, lip blusing, lash liner and offer tattoo removal & brow corrections. I also offer Permanent Jewelry in my shop as well. Brows are $695 ( total of 2 sessions & last over a year before a touchup is needed), lip blushing $625 for 2 sessions, eyeliner $395 for 2 sessions, removal/lightening is $120 per lightening session & brow maintenance is $20. Life update: marrying this handsome man in just 16 days!
In efforts to keep working but also finish the wedding planning, below is my availability over the next 30 days.

All other days I’m either booked, making my 76th DIY wedding idea, at the alter or on our honeymoon ☺️
Dates above are available for new brows, brow boosts, lash liner, lip blush, tattoo lightening. brow maintenance or permanent jewelry.
If you cannot book an appointment on those dates above, please send me a text at 309-231-5236. Usually the app does not allow request within 48 hours, but if I am available, I would be happy to make an exception.

Nervous? Usually. Ready for a change? Of course. Trust me to only do what’s right for you? Yes!
Happy retirement brows my friend. I’ve heard it time and time again.. ‘ I wish I would have done this sooner’! Well you did it now and I’m so happy you did!
Life changing quite honestly.
And let me just reassure you that they always heal much softer. This is always the initial moment right after we’re done that I always get to show. When they heal they are softer and smaller and look much more natural but trust me, anyone can have their brows back. I got you!

Some of my special girls took me away for a few days to celebrate the soon change of my last name 💒. I promise I’ll return all messages Tuesday but this wkend calls may go to voicemail 😘

I scroll and see how little I post and I’m sorry I don’t do it more often. Work is on the brows & sometimes the after work gets away from me.
However, the simplest change can still give those in question the peace of mind that it’s ok to take the leap of faith.. so here we are.

Trichotillomania. A trainer once told me that we’re not able to work on clients who experience this condition because if they cannot stop picking at their hair, they will not be able to leave their brows alone. This is just another perfect example that that is very untrue. In fact, those are the ones that need this the most.
4 years her brows held so well, which is somewhat longer than most can wait for their first color boost. When she was ready, I was ready and I could not be happier with our results along the years.
