In 1980, in the City by the Bay (Perth Amboy, NJ) there were not many beauty salons that only focused on the ethno-centric hair of the many young women that populated its homes. And that was the inspiration that drove Lourdes to begin her creation and for the last 30 years – she has not stopped focusing on her vision and building around the belief that beauty is skin deep. Lourdes has become a household name, a premier leader in the beauty industry believing that being a beautician is not a job, but a way of life. Although Lourdes enjoys all aspects of being a beautician, one of her favorite techniques is to style and color. A story that many are unaware exists and it should be the role of every beautician to focus on the beauty within all and enrich a person’s natural beauty.
