šŸˆšŸ€āš¾šŸ’ SATURDAY MORNINGS AT LUCKY’S CLIP SHOP šŸ’āš¾šŸ€šŸˆ

Throughout the school year, I’ll be opening Lucky’s Clip Shop on Saturday mornings to help accommodate kids involved in sports.

I’m normally closed on Saturdays, but I know how hectic the school week gets between practices, games, tournaments and everything else families have going on. So this year I’m making Saturday mornings available specifically to give student athletes and their families another option to get in the chair.

Same Lucky’s Clip Shop service, just an extra day available for the kids putting in work on the field, court, rink and everywhere in between. šŸ’ˆ

Saturday morning appointments will be limited, so book ahead!

Now that school is back in session and the fudgies are finally out of town, I’ve got more room for appointments again! If I missed your call or couldn’t fit you in during the summer rush, I apologize. I truly appreciate everyone who reached out, and especially my regulars who were patient with me through another crazy Petoskey summer. If you’ve been waiting to get in, now is a great time to call or message me as I finally have time for new clients!

I’ve been watching a ridiculous amount of The Flintstones at Lucky's Clip Shop lately, and I keep thinking about how unbelievably wholesome this show is.

Not because Fred and Barney are the perfect friendship either. Fred is loud, stubborn, jealous, gets mad, screws things up and gets himself into dumb situations constantly (I can relate I think most of us can at times lol). But that’s kind of the point to me... The problems are all so NORMAL, and underneath the jokes there’s almost always some little moral lesson about being a better husband, wife, father, friend or neighbor.
For instance, in the past few episodes Barney loses his job and Fred tries to help his best friend get back on his feet. Barney later gets put in a position where doing his job could hurt Fred, and he’d rather sacrifice his own livelihood and comfort than lose their friendship. Then Barney saves a baby, Fred accidentally gets the credit and lets it go to his head, but eventually his conscience eats at him until he humbles himself and tells everybody the truth. Betty and Barney desperately want a child, Bamm-Bamm shows up on their doorstep, and suddenly you’ve got a whole story about adoption, family and love being more important than money or superficial and material things. Even Dino (their ā€œdogā€) comes flying through the house every night and practically tackles Fred because he’s just so damn happy his owner came home. (My dog Judah to a T lol)
Then there’s all the little stuff. Husbands and wives getting irritated with each other but still loving each other. Friends fighting and making up. Helping your buddy when he’s down. Trying to cheer your wife up when she’s having a hard time. Parents trying to do right by their kids. People being selfish, learning a lesson and realizing they were wrong.
It’s simple. It’s funny. It’s down home salt of the earth peoples problems. It’s morally driven without beating you over the head with it. (Pun intended)
Somehow a cartoon about cavemen and their families made more than 60 years ago feels more normal and human than half the stuff on television today. Maybe that’s why I’ve been enjoying it so much lately.
And to top it off, I’ve had kids glued to the screen asking their parents ā€œCAN WE WATCH THIS WHEN WE GET HOME!?ā€ and that to me shows that our world is craving this sort of wholesome, family friendly content and I’m here for it and thought I would share with you all. Thanks for reading. God bless! Let’s all be more like the Flintstones and the Rubbles if we can! YABBA DABBA DOOOO! šŸ¦–

I woke up today feeling very grateful for my amazing clients who show up time after time for haircuts, conversation, and friendships that have truly meant a lot to me in this life.

When I really think about it, there aren’t many other jobs that could bring me the joy that serving you here in Petoskey does. When I walk downtown with my family for ice cream and see the faces of the people who support us, keep food on our table, and a roof over our heads smiling at us, waving at us and stopping to say hello and meet my family and things, it truly brings my spirit to life. Not just because I’m proud to show off my family to my clients, but because I’m also proud to show off my clients to my family and that’s the special part about it.

Every person has a different story they’ve let me in on, or some little piece of gossip they trusted me with that strengthens our bond and makes it so much more than just a client-barber relationship. That is what I am grateful for today.

Most of you are not just my clients—you are my friends. I am ever so grateful for every single one of you who decides Lucky’s Clip Shop is worth your time and energy.

I pray God blesses every one of you as He has blessed me.

So much love, from my family to yours. šŸ€šŸ’ˆšŸ’š

PSA: If you bring your wife into my place of business to try to scold me about my opinions on Bliss Festival, don’t be surprised when I respond and defend my views. If she leaves upset because the conversation didn’t go the way she expected, that’s on YOU for bringing her here. You should have known better… When I asked if I should bring my wife to his place of employment tomorrow to discuss his opinions, he said, ā€œI really hope you wouldn’t do that,ā€ with a smug smile that made it clear he understood exactly why what he had done was incredibly inappropriate. This is the hypocrisy and idiocy I deal with here almost every day at this point with these sort of people. That said, you’re welcome to bring your wife’s opinions in here, as long as you recognize that if the conversation becomes uncomfortable, that’s the result of bringing it into my business—not because I invited it. šŸ™ƒ

PSA: Do NOT call me 6x in a row. If you do, you will never see me again for the rest of your life.
Please, just leave a message and I’ll call you back at my earliest convenience. Thank you, God bless and have a good day. šŸ™šŸ»šŸ™‚
