We are excited to announce that Balay & Brown is now a Licensed Barbershop as well as Cosmetology Establishment in Northern Michigan! While Barber licenses vary from Cos, this opens the doors for future collabs with other service providers in the shop. Stay tuned! ✨👏🏼🍾

If you’ve heard me say that your desired results may take a couple of sessions, this is what I mean!
At Balay & Brown, I strive to put your hair’s health first, and By taking our time to get you to your desired blonde, we’re able to maintain the integrity of your hair. This is because we’re not over processing, over toning, or using high heat, all which will deplete your hair cuticle of all pigment and nutrients leaving it dry, fragile, and/or broken. When we plan to get you blonde In multiple sessions, we are able to evaluate how your hair feels, how your at home routine is going, and how we can get you to your end goal in the best way possible.
That being said, can’t wait to see you for our next studio sesh 😘

This girl has put in the WORK to go from a level 1 (black hair) to a level 8/9 (blonde) and climbing! KP has come in every 8-12 weeks for almost a year and the results have been a slow and healthy transition to a beautiful honey blonde. Good things come to those who trust the process 😂👏🏼 🍯

Had a great time helping our friends recover the Gypsy Van from Florida! Don’t worry, when you book your next haircut with me, I won’t cut your hair with kitchen scissors and 40 knot winds… unless you’ll let me 😉 but I will offer you a Mulligan!
Although we’re oh so grateful for our last adventure, I’m happy to be home and can’t wait to catch the next sunset with you in the studio. Cheers!
